Ahoy mates, I be new in port and wanted to say my 'ellos. I live on a boat and am cruisnig south along the Intracoastal Waterway, currently in port at Charles Towne (Charleston) South Carolina. I've been shooting black powder since 1976 and have recently become certified as gun crew at the Charles Towne Landing Historical Site, which looks like the beginning of a new addiction and is of great concern to my better half. My original foray into reenacting and muzzle loading was related to the Rocky Mountain fur trade, but I've always been interested in pirates and the history related to the latter part of the Golden Age, roughly 1670 - 1725. I am now in the process of a…

Happy 6th Anniversary to the Pyracy Pub, at least I think we have been here that long, anyway I know I have been here almost that long. I will celebrate 6 years at this establishment on February 11th, having joined back in '03. I wish to raise a tankard to all who have made it the wonderful place it is.

Hi, some of you may have met me in Key West this year while at the Schooner Warf's Bucksome Wenches contest.. . I think we all had a great time. My Captain and I look forward to coming back yet again this year... But I want him to come in style and have everything he needs. Where can I find a good captain's coat/frock coat within a $500.00 budget? I don't want flashy, tacky gold lame` or any of bright flamboyant colors... Simple black, velvet or fine cotton will do, simple trim, buttons... I've looked at some places online through google searches but I don't think I'm hitting the right words to do a proper search. So any information as to where I could find such a …

Wnet to visit my brudder last evening. It had been 47 farenheit yesterday. At 6:30 p.m. I came out of the 15th curve on a highway I travel often on Black-Ice. I know what to do so I planted both feet on the floor off and away from the pedals and tried to steer out of it. uh-uh. sheet of black-ice. Just before I left the road I remeber glacnig down to be sure I was buckled. I looked out the door window at the trees coming up fast and said aloud; Here we go, I'm dead. First ipmact; second hit; and the final strike where all my injuries came from; Even with the seatbelt on I was thrown across the cockpit out of the shoulder harness, but the lapbelt held. Ke…

We've now just received a picture documenting this event. Rumors have been spreading for years over this event. Capt'n John Sterling has refused comment on the situation and Quartermaster William Brand (formerly Capt'n of the Watch Dog) could not be reached at this time. We believe we have found a pictorial of the, now infamous, "Night in Barcelona". We do believe that this was early in the evening just before the real action got started. We can now see baboon was there early during the festivities. (Look towards the bottom left. OI the Capt'n is going to kill me. )

Greetings, Ladies and Gents. I beg your forgiveness for my rudeness! I have been about the forum for about a week and I have been so remiss to make a proper introduction! Allow me then, to introduce myself, I am indeed Lady Brower. I must confess that I am new to the pirate life as I have recently fled my former life. I come from a most well to do family, but life lacked a certain... excitement. I have been provided education and the comforts denied to many a young lady, but when I fell in love with a most handsome young sailor I was forced to choose love of the comfort of my former station... As the case in any such drama portrayed in popular culture I of course, cho…

(A large and well-appointed filibustier enters the tavern. He wears a black wool coat and breeches, with brass buttons, a red damask waistcoat, a ruffled shirt and cravat, an elegant high tricorn with silver trim, white silk stockings, and leather shoes with chiseled brass buckles. He has a cane in his right hand and an elegant smallsword at his left hip.) His Peruke is curled in the latest Paris fashion, with the tail of his queue enclosed by a small black silk bag and ribbon. If he bears a pistol, it is not visible. Are you a betting man?) Blessings and salutations, gentlemen and ladies adventurer one and all! Je suis hereux du faire votre connaissance. Joyeux Noël a …
