http://rumandmonkey.com/widgets/tests/lunatics/ I'm Charles VI! Which Historical Lunatic Are You? You are Charles VI of France, also known as Charles the Mad or Charles the Well-Beloved! A fine, amiable and dreamy young man, skilled in horsemanship and archery, you were also from a long line of dribbling madmen. King at 12 and quickly married to your sweetheart, Bavarian Princess Isabeau, you enjoyed many happy months together before either of you could speak anything of the other's language. However, after illness you became a tad unstable. When a raving lunatic ran up to your entourage spouting an incoherent prophecy of doom, you were unsettled enough to slaught…

Yesterday I lost a friend to Breast Cancer. She detected a lump but didn't do anything about it until it was too late. From the time she went to the doctor right before Thanksgiving, it spread quickly to her liver and lungs. In less than two months she was gone. Nancy was just 38 years old and leaves behind a 9 year old daughter. I'm posting this as a reminder. For the ladies on the pub, I urge you to do self examinations routinely, and to have regular mammograms. For the guys on the pub, pass this message on to the women in your life. Breast Cancer can be beat with early detection. But it can also be devastating if it gets a chance and will spread with devastati…

Well as I bring this year to a close with a nasty cold which will follow me into the New Year, there's things that have happened this year here at the Pub and in my personal life that I have labeled as a transitory year of regaining myself. Being forced out of a pirate group of which I had been a member of for 13 or 14 odd years due to someone's jealousy caused me to look within myself and come out of it a better person. I'm now in a real non-profit group...yes the rules are very stringent, but the people are great (Pirates of Treasure Cove). I've been here at the Pub for now going on 5 years (basically just a couple weeks after it premiered here on the Internet), I thi…

The one man that has always been my favorite is Dick Van Dyke. Not only was he the funniest man that I grew up with, he was a terrific actor. I think he's retired now, but happened to catch "Mary Poppins" on TV last night reminded me of how much I like him. My other favorite is Robin Williams. The guy can do it all. And another quirky guy I love is Owen Wilson. Hmmm, let's put them all together for a pirate movie and see what happens!

We've found a small rental property less than a mile from where our eventual house will be, so we're moving out of the city to the country, which should make it much easier for house- and job-hunting. May not have our own internet access for a while, but with my parents living across the road, we'll be able to check in on things with theirs until we have our own. That'll let me keep my regular e-mail address, for them what have it (or want it), as well as being able to at least check in at the Pub. When we find a house to have moved on-site, there will, of course, be a housewarming party. As Pub-members are scattered all about, we figure to have an extended party for …

I was at home listening to the radio, and thougt 'what bad taste to talk about killing so many' then found out it was true. What a horrible thing to happen to the US. I"m going to quote this, without Pete's permission. He's offline now but it struck me as very poetic.. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Not doing too well today. It's September 11, and I thought very little special about it when I got up this morning. But we have overcast skies (here in Chicago) and non stop rain all day long... it appears as if the heavens themselves are in mourning. But during my morning commute, I was listening, as I do almost every day, to the local …

I came home from late night Christmas shopping with friends to an email from my guyfriend. He had found this website to make yourself an elf and sing a song or just have a greeting. Peter Boyle, Ray's Dad on 'Everybody Loves Raymond,' Dies at 71 Wednesday, December 13, 2006 LOS ANGELES — Peter Boyle, the tall, prematurely bald actor who was the tap-dancing monster in "Young Frankenstein" and the curmudgeonly father in the long-running sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond," has died. He was 71. Boyle died Tuesday evening at New York Presbyterian Hospital. He had been suffering from multiple myeloma and heart disease, said his publicist, Jennifer Plante. A Christian Brothers monk who turned to acting, Boyle gained notice playing an angry workingman in the Vietnam-era hit "Joe."
