Hangin at Execution dock awaits. May yer Life be a long and joyous adventure in gettin there!
As he was about to face the gallows there, the pirate is said to have tossed a sheaf of papers into the crowd, taunting his audience with these final words:

"My treasure to he who can understand."

As Ye know it's a work in progress. So to is keeping up on the goings on out there.

We added the Auwsome group pic from Ojai.

A cheesy Jack Sparrow compass.

We added some cool things the Rumba bestowed upon us.

I am still looking to add some bar doors and a mural ifen when I can afford it.

How's your wish list going? I was thinking an old pair of louved closet doors would work great for the washer/dryer area. Just give it a distressed paint job and it will look like old hurricane shutters from the Governor's mansion.

Oderlesseye,

You might want to email me concerning your mural. Right now, I'm trying to get my flag business off the ground, but I'm also a muralist. I get down that way on occassion, so who knows? BB

Capt. William Bones

Then he rapped on the door with a bit of stick like a handspike that he carried, and when my father appeared, called roughly for a glass of rum. This, when it was brought to him, he drank slowly, like a connoisseur, lingering on the taste, and still looking about him at the cliffs and up at our signboard.

"This is a handy cove," says he, at length; " and a pleasant sittyated grog-shop. Much company, mate?"

My father told him no, very little company, the more was the pity.

"Well, then," said he, "this is the berth for me."

Proprietor of Flags of Fortune.

I do so enjoy watching your progress...you are doing a great job......my own project of turning the inside of my house into a pirate ship is moving rather slowly . My work and personal appearances are biting into my schedule more than I first thought....My pirate plunder has now filled my writing room, bedroom and is creeping into the family room....(it is not you average guy that has a four foot ships cannon in his family room......but the little wench seems at ease with it all.(She even dresses the part when she attends my book signings...Lucky I am that she is turning to the dark side of piracy....lol)

I have started on the kitchen (galley) with a floor repair and sketches to turn the island work space into a ships bow with cooking work space at the stern...my idea is to not try to replicate a ship but give the feel of being on a ship.....still working on the concept and pinching the budget to find the doubloons to get the project started.....wonder if I could write if off my taxes as a business expense to get me in the mood to write...lol?

Anyway I wanted to tell you to please keep sending photos of your progress......I looks GREAT!

Yours in Pyracy

Joe

Hey King's Pyrate I think your the guy that inspired me in the first place with the idea of the ballasters. I thank ye kindly. Perhaps you can post some of your progress on this thread and we can have Rumba edit the topic heading. Else please start nother thread so we can see your handy work! I can't wait!

Well Sir, The Galley floor is completed.....it took a weekend and lots of doubloons.....I can see this is going to be a slow, expensive process.

I have set up some web pages to mark my journey......here is the link to the floor project.

KP's Galley floor

Now I am thinking of things I can do that don't cost a King's Ransom.

Live Long and Plunder Well!

Great Job! I am envious and want to do the same to my back porch, however I may add a bit o' tiki and surf theme. Either way, I'm jealous.

Maybe I missed it somewhere, but would you be planning on adding some theatrical lighting too? The skulls would look awsome in a splash of green spotlight.

Yeah!...I have 2 1/2 rooms full of Pirate Plunder.....if the little wench had not turned to the "Dark Side" :D I would have to build me a pirate room addition but she has agreed to decorate the house with my pirate collection. Now I have to get the right affordable ideas for the final design.

Yours in Piracy!

Well now it has been awhile for me to do any updating on this thread for the cove. There has been some prepretory work going on. I finally got me bar room doors and all the siding required. I am getting ready to frame up everything at this point. This should add to the pirate theme goings on and hide the damn washer and dryer

It has taken me nearly 6 months to collect

and save for this investment.

The wall behind the washer and dryer is small enough that you might want to enclose them.....perhaps louvered doors (like closet doors) or a solid door with something nautical on it like a painting or a port hole.

I am slowly working on my living room but it is still a work in process....I'll post some photos when I am further along.

Keep up the Great Work...
