back yard pirate cove, piratical decor

Now all the detail work is done. All I have to do is get it sewn for eyelets.

Although this flag is most "untraditional," it has as much menacing symbolism as any other...

Hangin at Execution dock awaits. May yer Life be a long and joyous adventure in gettin there!
As he was about to face the gallows there, the pirate is said to have tossed a sheaf of papers into the crowd, taunting his audience with these final words:

"My treasure to he who can understand."

Hey Ody....I finally finished the painting of the mermaid..I took pictures of it yesterday. I forgot to bring the camera into work so I could download a few pictures for you. I have to be sure to remember it either later in the day or tomorrow.

Eye decide to give my hand at clay/ceramic pirate objects..

My first on the list is my Oderlesseye character...I hope he survives the fireing. Then I will paint & glaze 'em and fire once more. He will look cool hangin on a wall in the cove.

Keep in mind 'Oderlesseye' is a Hollywood Glam Pirate' Hence the diamond studded shades eeeerrrr.....

I've been getting stuff from Oriental Trading Company for a few years.

Great party supplies.

In my Naval units Wardroom, I host a huge Hawaiian party in Feb.

I get hundreds of dollars worth of stuff each year to make it better each time.

Big palm trees hanging from the ceiling (it’s a shore building, not a ship or I’d say deckhead), and tons of other stuff.

And now its much easier shipping to Canada

It has been a journey for this piece of art work...Originaly for the cove..It came out too nice to put there so it's on the wall behind my PC.

It's the Oderlesseye pottery head bust... I fired it twice and still had problems with impurities in the clay which messed up the paint to some degree..I over came that issue with acrylic paint as I was not willing to fire him a third time. The following Pics are the proggression of work based on this picture of my Hollywood Glam Pirate..

Thanks Rumba for the compliment.

Ody...ah I see. I love working with clay myself. I usually enroll in an Adult School class so I can work with clay. I don't think they even offer ceramics any more. Last time I had seen it in the booklet I think it was up to 90 bucks (and that is at a High School). Seems that it is a dying art. I hope the next administration brings back Music and Art curriculim back to the schools. When I was going to high school we heard that the community college back then even had glass blowing. Gone are many art courses. I had at least the priviledge of taking jewelry a couple of times and Enameling a couple of times. I think Enameling is now gone as well.
