Gentleman of Fortune Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 I am kind of curious.... What pirate sites do you find yourself going back to over and over again, or which sites do you think have the most usefull information? I would like to get a list of NON_FORUM sites. The ones that the Pirate People think are the best. A lot seem to rehash the same information, and even less are updated regularly, but still, I would like to know. Come aboard my pirate re-enacting site http://www.gentlemenoffortune.com/ Where you will find lots of information on building your authentic Pirate Impression!
blackjohn Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 I believe the question was addressing NON-FORUM sites... My Home on the Web The Pirate Brethren Gallery Dreams are the glue that holds reality together.
Captain Jim-sib Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 www.blackbeardsrealm.com by our very own Capt'n Sage
Tall Paul Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Are you fishin' for compliments GoF? Because your site is pretty useful. Lots of helpful links. and good information. now you owe me a beer for the plug Paul Cpt "Tall Paul" Adams Colchester Historical Enactment Society (C.H.E.S.)
Captain Sage Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 A kind thankee to Jim Sib! I like Pirates! Fact and Legend at: http://www.piratesinfo.com/ Captain Sage Visit The Pirate's Realm and Blackbeard's Realm
Cronk Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 :) garrgh, www.theforce.net beholds many pirate spamming forums if ye be into that kind of ting Tis no man, tis a remorseless eating machine, yarrgh
Daniel Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 I find Brethren of the Coast to be a superb site. Le Diable Volant has some great sources on it also. Piratesinfo.com is good, but I find the forum to be more valuable than the rest of the site.
Blackfoot Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 I think Bilgemunky's sight is awesome. It is one of my favorites. www.bilgemunky.com ]
Bilgemunky Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Why thankyou I promise more updates and reviews soon - right now I'm still bogged down in a computer upgrade (gotta be ready for Pirates of the Burning Sea and Age of Pirates!) I AM BILGEMUNKY
Blackfoot Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 You are most welcome Bilgemunky! The truth be told. ]
William Brand Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 This one is good as a replica tall ship reference page. It loads very slowly. http://www.timedesign.de/ship/ship.html
Capt. Lazarus Gage Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Bilgemunky.com CaptJackspiratehats.com (collect them all!!) & NoQuarterGiven.net
Capt. Sterling Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 I like Foxe's best, they may not be purty but boy he gets you thinking...!!! :) "I being shot through the left cheek, the bullet striking away great part of my upper jaw, and several teeth which dropt down the deck where I fell... I was forced to write what I would say to prevent the loss of blood, and because of the pain I suffered by speaking."~ Woodes Rogers Crewe of the Archangel http://jcsterlingcptarchang.wix.com/creweofthearchangel# http://creweofthearchangel.wordpress.com/
Nelson Cooke Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Bilgemunky gets my overall vote. Another site that's indispensible is the International Commercial Crime Services Weekly Pirate Blotter.
