CaptainSwan
All right m'loves. I'm searchin for a good crew and some close Mates to join me in my piratin' ways. I make my home in New Hampshire where my Land claiments tug at me heart strings. But the sea and the love of piratin' pulls me south to Pennsylvania and New Jersey at least once a month for some good ol' times and adventures to be had. Any one interested in strikin' an acord and joinin' me let me know and I'll lay out in detail for ya the glorious world of the Black Swan and where she'll make bearth next. Captain Charlotte Savvy
I've been looking fer some proper piratical mates to join me at the Greater Pittsburgh (PA) Renaissance Festival this Summer ... CaptainSwan
Ah excellent, what I'm thinking of is to get a good group of pirates together for the LARP I go to. It is not all pirate themed but I'm playin' Swan and I would love to get me a crew to terrorize the town a bit. Let me know what you think....the LARP is in White Haven PA. Wherever we want to go, we go. That's what a ship is; It's not just a keel and hull and a deck and sails. That's what a ship needs. But what a ship is really is freedom. Captain Charlotte Savvy
White Haven not bein' a too-terribly-long voyage fer me t' make ... sounds intriguing. :) However, having no LARPing experience, I have a few up-front questions for ye before we get any further: Do I NEED any LARPing experience, or is this an event where you can make it up as you go? Do they have a particularly strict set of gaming rules, or is it a bit more relaxed? What's the fee for participating? Aaaandd ... actually, that's it fer now. *grins* I have some decent-enough pyratical gear (though I'm afraid there's no gettin' 'round the non-period glasses, as I won't wear contacts ;-D), so that wouldn't be a problem ... but I'm curious about the other questions ... Cap'n Mad Eye
What parts of Jersey Captain Swan? Me and Shaelyn shall be returnin' t' the area come the end of July. Our whole crew is from the NJ/PA/MD/NY/OH/MI/NH region... As fer Greater Pittsburgh..sadly we won't be makin' that trip..falls right durin Pennsic War and well..can't be missin' that event now :)
CaptainSwan
1) Do you need any LARPing experience: NO...none at all. We have new people comming every month. There are rules and you should make up a history and full character (all on the site) so that you know who your Character is and you have a good grasp on her. We are a real tight nit family group of 70-140 people per event. Out of that number we have about 6 pirates and we're all trying to recruit some new sea fairin' folk. The site is easy and well written out KR Link For the most part it is a fantasy realm..my other character is an elf and there are all sorts of things....basicly if you took the Lord or the Rings and had a few POTC characters running about you'd have KR. There is a central plot that happens during the weekend and it is optional to be actively involved in figuring it out and battling for the town, or keep to yourself. As Captain Swan me and my two friends keep to our selves RP with a very few other people and just try to stir up some trouble. We have a pirate in dubbed "The Crown Royale" and run by two out standing Pirates who are good friends of mine. 2) Fee for participating from Friday night until Sunday evening including "room" and food is $45. There are Cabins...4 beds per cabin, some people have claimed a cabin to themselves others bunk with their mates. I brought out Captain Swan last month and I'm itchin' to get me a crew that will spy, steel from, and make an interesting time for the town. Last month I robbed the Baron's manner clean and no one knew and I would LOVE to have more mates with me to do dasterdly deeds and share some good times with. AND bring more GOOD people into Knight Realms and introduce LARPing to curious folk. If you would like to IM me Hiddenshadows22, Sexydiva2themax or BlackSwanCaptain....I'm bound to be on one of those screen names for a few hours a day. Captain Mad Eye: Sparta New Jersey is our Winter site at camp Sacajawea. Our spring summer and Fall site is Hickory run state Park, Camp Shehaqua in White Haven PA. Have a blast at Pennsic I've been watning to go myself for 4 years now but I never make it. Wherever we want to go, we go. That's what a ship is; It's not just a keel and hull and a deck and sails. That's what a ship needs. But what a ship is really is freedom.
tishsparrow
finally a crew in new jersey! if i can join you, that would be great! unfortunately, i cannot go too far from my area (dont drive yet, i know, im a youngin ) but maybe i could get a ride from someone. are you in north or south jersey? im in south, and its a bit of a drive to get to north jersey. i also dont have very much experience in either larp or piracy, but i think i know the basics. i will try to be at the pa renfair pirate weekend, but i definitely will be there at some point. CaptainSwan
excellent. Take a look at the site. We're in PA for the summer but in Sparta NJ during the winter...Sparta is Northern jersey. www.knightrealms.com Wherever we want to go, we go. tishsparrow
WOW! that looks like fun! i think its too far away though if only i could drive myself... i really wish i could go. i love that kind of stuff. theres one near me that is extremely similar in character races and such, but nowhere near as cool in the general setup. knight realms has some characters that are way better, and the pictures show a lot more imagination and enthusiasm in the costuming and makeup. plus its got cabins. no tents, and thank god no open-air-on-the-forest-floor sleeping. plus there seems to be younger kids there. my brothers seem semi interested in it, but not if they are the youngest people there. i will definitely look into going. (by that i mean pestering my parents till they either go insane or give in)
CaptainSwan
Yes we are a very cool group lol. Younger players are welcome. If I can inquire to your's and your brother's ages (if you don't want that public PM me) our youngest player is 11 and she has to be escorted by one of her parents. We have a lot of players in their teens, the majority of players are in my age group (20s) and our oldest member is 55 so we have a very vast age range and people are very conciderate and play well with everyone lol. We have been called the best LARP in the Tri-state area for some time now. I know what you mean on the distance though lol I drive 5-6 hours every month to go to the game. I live in New hampshire so its a definate trek. If your family has any questions about the game they can feel free to E-mail me at QTPa2Tfpc215@yahoo.com or the links for the staff's e-mail is on the site. Wherever we want to go, we go. tishsparrow
NEW HAMPSHIRE!? are you nuts? wow, but my brothers are 10 and 12 and not as interested as i am in it. my info is in my profile. kinda funny, right now im on a pirate site, talking about a larp game, wearing a sort of gypsy-costume/tee shirt combo, and watching greenday. weird. AND greenday is singing a queen song. just weird. oh well. GREENDAY ROCKS!
Firethorn
Sound intriguing Miss Swan, bein’ I hail from the Jersey Shore area, may haps I be interested bein’ it isn’t too far away. I’ll take a look-see at the Knights Realm site. I also plan to attend the Pirates weekend festivities at PARF in August.
CaptainSwan
"NEW HAMPSHIRE ARE YOU NUTS?!" nope lol. It's just that damn good. I love it so much. Your younger brother, unfortunately isn't of age until I think 11. But the 12 year old would be fine...seeing as we have someone just around his age to keep him company. Anyone that wants to join let me know and we can discuss characters and your place in my crew. THank you all so much for the interest. Wherever we want to go, we go. tishsparrow
on the site i think it said 10-14 needed an adult with them, so i assume he can come. but looking about the site, i saw that he wouldnt be able to do combat. so... yea, he isnt coming. not very interested if theres no beating people with sticks, as he puts it. my friends will come with me, but they just dont know it yet i was thinking of being a gypsy, with the profession of pirate. is that possible? i think it is. but when (and where) is the next event? there dont seem to be any on the calendar, or was i just reading it wrong?ill just check again. hope i can go, and maybe if i can, ill join your crew. CaptainSwan
The calender is so messed up. The next event is July 29th. If you do decide to join my crew there are a few things we need to talk about so you can write a good character. First thing you should know is My character is evil and nasty, and she hates elves. ANything else we'll talk about over AIM or PM lol Wherever we want to go, we go. That's what a ship is; It's not just a keel and hull and a deck and sails. That's what a ship needs. tishsparrow
wasnt going to be an elf. could, but wont. i like the idea of being a runaway gypsy better. (ive already got half a story written, but still dont have a name, really.) all the names sound so, well, elvish. could be because ive been looking through my tolkien companion book so much. CaptainSwan
excellent. I love the tolkien companion and there's another book about J.R.R and the LOTR series that I can't remember but its good. CaptainSwan
May the Wind fill your sails. and next time your brothers moan about you watching the main family tv just say "Fine then, since you want this one I'll be using yours" they shouldn't give you any more grief after that lol Wherever we want to go, we go.
