Rogue, just remember me picture from me avatar....yes that is really me. Just look for two pirate women with 4 children with them (three boys and a girl.). Not sure if the kiddos are dressing...but look for our pyracy pins on our hats.

Rumba, it is true. Someone I work with was there. It was the girl's fault that she was walking alone from the "rowdy" area to the other area. From what my coworker tells me, the girl is now in a coma.

So are you saying she was "asking for it"? :(

It is sad that this is what our society has come to.

It was not a good idea for the girl to walk from the bad area to her tent, I think that is the point Cheryl is making. No one deserves to be raped and left in a coma.

I don't live in a very good part of my town (starting out on my own, low funds, cheap apartment, safe area during the day...sleezy at night!) so I am very careful of my surroundings, carry mace, and I can also defend myself if that is what it came down to.

It's scary though. Nothing and nowhere are really truely safe. When I go camping at a state park in DE is it safe for me to walk from my tent to the toliets? It should be, but you never know who else is out there.

It seems that we all have to adapt to the world that we live in. Not everyone is bad, but there is no way to tell who is and who isn't . There is such a thin line between caution and all out paranoia. You can't live your life in fear of things that might not happen, but you have to take precautions so those things don't happen.

If that poor girl was drinking I'm sure that the danger in walking to her tent alone didn't even cross her mind. (Also a bad idea, a young woman drinking alone in public)

I think it's so sad that a slip in judgement can make you a target to such horrible, horrible people. I hope those bastards were caught. :(

I think what my sister is trying to saying is that the girl should have asked someone to go with her back to where she needed to go. Instead of thinking that she would be okay going on here own. As Rogue said if the girl was drinking I hate to say this when your young and drinking you think nothing can happen to you. I have seen it to many times. The poor girl probably was not even thinking clearly and thought everything was okay. Bad judgement on her part.

I do hope they get the bastards that did this to her.

My sister really never gave you a answer on what time. Um I am not sure what time we will get there but we will be there most of the day also rain or shine. I will try to remember to shop by where Mercenary works so she does not miss out.

Thanks for the update Mad Woman Cheryl.

Now I can go for the talk I've been wanting to do for awhile, this just cinches it. Will be in Rabble Rousing.

Well, it doesn't look like there's a time/place arranged for a P.P. meetup tomorrow, and I'm not going to suggest one, since I'm not exactly sure what time I can get to PARF (maybe 2:00?). I'm going to try to remember descriptions people have given. Myself, I think I'll wear a black felt tricorn with gold trim, off-white shirt, plain brown pants, black boots, red sash, brown belt and baldric, cutlass on the side, dagger in back, belaying pin and leather tankard somewhere on my person. Or something like that...all articles subject to change! Oh yeah, I'm about 6' tall and have a goatee.

I had a fantastic time Saturday (until the sun came out and I boiled alive in my bodice!!!). It was great getting to meet both Cheryl and Constance. I'll need to get my behind in gear and get some photos posted. I also tried to find you Mercenary Wench, but alas I looked in the wrong place too. I was looking in the costume place across from the rock candle guy next to the two kiddy swings run by pirates. Darnit all. Oh well, I'm going back sometime in October with my little cousins. I'll try again then!!!! (and this time I'll look at the map!!!) B)

Well, it sounds like you were looking in the right place - Swashbuckler's grove; between the swings and the vikings, across from the stone candle tent - so maybe you caught me at the time I was off on lunch.

Yeah! do all come visit me later!
