Here's one that just came off the top o' me head this mornin'

Be a pirate, be a pirate,

There's nothing like a pirate,

Sailin' an robbin' with no regret,

It's here I'll hang me hat, well met,

Another day, another dubloon,

Ne're a need to ever fret,

I'll be a pirate, Yes a Pirate,

'Till twilight nears, and me life be at rest.

So what can some of you do? Try and keep it clean! I know, it's hard but there's younsters reading these posts too.

I ain't old, yet...

You don't get to be an old pirate by not knowin how to swim, me hearties!

Oh give me a home

Where the old pirates roam

And the seahorse and the dolphins all play

Where the trade winds are good

And the peglegs are wood

And we all can sing "AAAAARRRRRR!!" All day!

"You have a woman's skin, m'lord! I'll wager that hides never been rubbed with salt and flayed off to make stockin's for a pirates best cabin boy!"

Here is a good one I have found:

The autumn wind's a pirate,

Blustering in from sea;

With a rollicking song, he sweeps along,

Swaggering boist'rously.

His skin is weather-beaten;

He wears a yellow sash,

With a handkerchief red about his head.

And a bristling black mustache.

He laughs as he storms the country,

A loud laugh and a bold;

And the trees all quake and shiver and shake,

As he robs them of their gold.

The autumn wind's a pirate,

Pillaging just for fun;

He'll snatch your hat as quick as that,

And laugh to see you run!

The schooner pitched the decks awash the main truck sheared and sagged , the Cap'n bellowed " I'll see ye in hell before I strike me flag ! " So with the strength of a man gone mad the Cap'n turned the wheel and we peppered that brig with all we had chain shot an red hot steel. As we prepared to board the tattered brig me an fifty brothers we stood and cheered with mad delight to see her stike her colours..

Just another day at the office ???

Here is a sonnet for the pirate poetry list:

A Pyrate Queen is created well by,

The Captain of a fine sailing vessel.

He loves her more than his ship, and well nigh

gives her the devotion of a vassal.

The Pyrate Queen treats her loving Captain,

With amorous and eternal respect.

His skills as a sailor will e’er remain

Her deliverance. He she will ne’er neglect.

The Wild Pyrate Queen and her Sane Captain,

Sail the Seas Pillaging for a pittance,

And Looting whatever else remains.

Loving eternally in riotous dance.

Sailing and shooting, and dancing alway,

Choosing to journey the mariners way.

Let me see...

*ahem* (throat clearing for dramatic effect)

Rubies are red.

Sapphires are blue.

I am a pirate,

and if you don't prepare to be boarded, I'll slash your sails with a volley of chain, turn your hull into splinters, fill your crew with grape, board you anyway, empty your hold, find any hidden booty, keelhaul the captain, burn what's left to the waterline, and publish a book telling everyone how you screamed like a sissy as you fled in a long boat.

Hang it all, I can't seem to make the last line have the right rhythm or rhyme....

Sapphires are blue,

Pearls are white

Rubies are red,

and Diamonds shine bright.

The ocean is blue,

The clouds are pure white,

the moon is red

and the sun shines bright.

My foe will be blue,

and his face will turn white

when his blood that is red,

flows on my steel so bright.

I am a pyrate queen, not king.

Me mind I change quite oft.

Guile, wee tricks and antics,

are for a woman so soft.

These items assist in many

a pyrate queen's domain.

Her "weaker" self in any

fight upon the main.

When boarded by a pyrate King,

A fight must needs ensue.

This battle of the sexes ring,

with steel, and sticks and brew!

And so she must be wily,

To win this battle hard.

And use all tricks unkindly,

And speak just like a bard.

  • 2 weeks later...

It's lonely here alone on deck

I sit against the mast

The anchor's cast into the shallows

Me message bottle cast

I see the ocean rolling blue

The sun is setting nigh

The moon doth rise in starlit skies

But no tear will I cry

I'll sit alone upon my deck

And wait for him to come

My moonlight lover, dark and sleek

Drawn by the scent of rum

I see him drawing ever near

He strides along the shore

And catches me with sin black eyes

I'll be alone no more

His bootheels click along my deck

I offer up his prize

His smile is warm, but hungry

The moonlight in his eyes

He takes the bottle from my grip

His fingers caress my hand

We drink and sing and laugh and talk

And make love on the sand

When the moon has gone and the sun has rose

He bids me fond farewell

My pirate lover gone for now

Another tale to tell

Return shall I to plunder and reave

And slash with the devil's grin

The next full moon will bring me back

To eyes as dark as sin

"You have a woman's skin, m'lord! I'll wager that hides never been rubbed with salt and flayed off to make stockin's for a pirates best cabin boy!"
