AllByMeOnesies Posted July 6, 2004 Posted July 6, 2004 Does anyone know of a good source that will give info regarding swivel guns in the late 1600's? Caliber, range, etc. etc.? Thankee!
Capt. Flint Posted July 6, 2004 Posted July 6, 2004 If you are looking for historical info.... I'm not sure where to tell you to look. If you are looking to buy one; Dixie gun works has a nice one for sale and at a fairly good price too. Let me know how you make out..... Flint

Try <"http://www.wildimports.com"> theys got two swivel guns, one of em a copy of the Adventure Galley's gun :) Drop a kitten six feet, and she grins... Drop an elephant six feet, and ya gots yerself a mess ta clean up.... Sometimes bein' the biggest and most powerful is the LAST thing you wanna be..... Mad Ozymandias Zorg the Unsnottered
AllByMeOnesies Posted July 7, 2004 Author Posted July 7, 2004 Not looking to buy one (though it WOULD be useful on pesky neighborhood punks). :) I would like to know for historical research purposes.

The 'wildimports stuff is all early 1800's, not 1600's................
Hawkyns Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 "Boarders Away vol. 2 Firearms in the Age of Fighting Sail" by Gilkerson is your best bet. Has a whole section on what he calls 'little artillery'. Hawkyns Cannon add dignity to what otherwise would be merely an ugly brawl I do what I do for my own reasons. I do not require anyone to follow me. I do not require society's approval for my actions or beliefs. if I am to be judged, let me be judged in the pure light of history, not the harsh glare of modern trends.
