Grace O'Malley Posted June 23, 2004 Posted June 23, 2004 There I was, just finishin' up with the labor of deliverin' me son Tibbot-ne-Long when me ship was attacked by Turkish pirates. I be quite tuckered out after the long ordeal, but me crew were losin' the fight something awful so I grabbed a pair o' blunderbusses loaded up with shot, made me way above deck and let fire on those Turks! Twas the turnin' of the tide fer us. But I would have to be sayin' that fer man-ta-man (or in my case woman-to-man) combat I do prefer a good rapier and dagger, though I be not above the use o' fisticuffs for givin' me crew a good trouncin' Gráinne Ni Mhaille Captain Grace O'Malley Sea Queen of Connaught Irish She-pirate Extraordinaire
Grace O'Malley Posted June 23, 2004 Posted June 23, 2004 Why is't that FIRESHIPS be not on the list? Expensive but most useful when engaged in full war. Take a ship ye need not and fill 'er to the gills with gunpowder an' set 'er ablaze pointed leeward o' yer enemies! KABOOM!
