I got tired of not finding the colors or style of wool felt I wanted for hats so I made my own wood hat block and started shaping my own blanks. It was a long process with quite a few mistakes along the way but I finally got them to come out the way I wanted. The felt is about $12 - 22 a yard depending on color and the supplier, the total cost to build the hat block was about $50. I haven't made enough for resale yet, but working on it.

It is a fine hat for sure....looks great....my friend, Mad Dog, makes his hat s out of old felt cowboy hats.....don't know how he does it but they look great!

You should be proud of your work...it is always more fulfilling when you make something yourself....well done!
