Actually, I sent it directly to the good Doctor and he was kind enough to post it to the propaganda section of the site and send me a pleasant email in return.

You know, it's kinda kewl how much stuff you learn on the Pub. I'd never heard of Dr. Steel.

I found lots of fun things on the site that Red Jessi posted. Especially some of hats — there was one with mouskito (?) netting that you could customize into something really fun.

Chain Shot and I are going to ck out the local surplus store next weekend, just to see what they have. It's a small one, but pretty crowded with stuff. I think Chain Shot is going to go for the "Great White Hunter" safari look, only steamed up. He commented last night "Hummm, I wonder where I could get an elephant gun?" Help!

BTW, other than Star Struck, and Wild Wild West, any Steampunk movie recommendations? Ones you might get

costume ideas from. We watched League of Extraordinary Gentlemen last night, and it had some good ideas. I liked Mina's Victorian Vampire outfit. You could Steam that up nicely (ideas start racing through my little brain. LOL)

and buccaneers and buried gold...

You can do everything right, strictly according to procedure, on the ocean, and it'll still kill you. But if you're a good navigator, a least you'll know where you were when you died.......From The Ship Killer by Justin Scott.

SO agreed! Love that outfit, in the most terrible way.

There are a few Japanese anime that work for Steampunk ~ Steamboy being one of them. And don't forget the Cyan game ~ Myst (books based on the game also available) and Obsidian.

I knew Myst was steam punk! I just knew it. Actually that is where I got the name Amanjiria from. It was in one one the books. Now I know I'm on the right track.

Though I am not too familar with Steampunk, I grew up watching Wild Wild West (which in my opinion was the first phase of Steampunk).

League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is a great movie and the special effects and props are to die for. I have been thinking about selling some of my Victorian gowns (mostly made when doing Wild West Reenactments).

They rang in size from a size 8 to 12 and some 14. A large assortment...great for this sort of stuff...

Anyone interested, PM me. I'll chat and send photos if you are looking for lovely Lady's late-Victorian (mostly second bustle fashion of the mid to late 1880s).

Event coming up!!!!

"Alien Gaslight Shindig".

When: Friday, July 10, 2009 at 7pm.

Where: ShoreLeave Convention at Marriotts Hunt Valley Inn in Hunt Valley, MD.

Will be a Costume Dance (Ball sounds too formal) to get Steampunk, Brown Coats and Aliens together (takes the place of the Klingon Feast).

Cost is pending right now. Are really trying to make this affordable to everyone, trying for $10-$15. Will have DJ and will have finger foods.

I will post any updates as they happen.

Both SeaLegs and I will be there!

Mad Woman Cheryl

By Odin's mighty spear, I hereby snap and go berzerk!!!"

I will also say that they are very stunning outfits! Perfect for both PC events and also a cross-timeline!!

I'd like to make a suggestion that we post pictures of garb and accessories (other than weapons) in the Steam Punk Pics thread. I think they will be easier to find there, rather than trying to scroll back through pages and pages of this thread, if you wanted to recheck something out.

Also, Patrick, maybe you could start a Columbia's Revenge maps, plans and backstory thread for easier reference?

Just my humble two bits worth.

The Steampunk Home: pictures of a lot of cool stuff

http://thesteampunkhome.blogspot.com/

This site is an evil, black hole, time-sucking vortex of awesomely kewl ideas. I will NOT admit how many hours I spent in this site yesterday, but even between what they post, and the links, I still feel like I've barely scraped the surface. Some of my favorite ideas, were the different ways to make secret doors hidden behind bookcases, most of the steampunk lighting fixtures, and the downloadable vintage poison labels. Tons of ideas here. Thanks, Patrick.....I think!;)

Oh, and William. Awesome clock. Might one ask where she found it?
