Want some ketchup for that leg? I've got some Baron's Banana Ketchup...it's from the Caribbean!
-
And I was, too. Busy, that is...
-
Ummm...I don't know what the difference between the two are, but if some nubile wench were to model some for me, so I could get a good hands-on feel for the subject, I could probably tell you...after a bit, and a few days rest...

What I'm doing *right* now, at time of writing, is...well...obvious. But what I *will* be doing...cleaning up the place to get ready for Xmas, give the ship's cats their goodies, start getting ready for the Walt Disney World trip (that's this Friday), take my mother out someplace to eat...gonna be busy today.

Ah, so ye both be young whippersnappers! What is a whippersnapper, anyway, and why aren't there any old ones? Something to do with their lifestyle, or amorous proclivities?
-
Yeah, I just now noticed you had mentioned it, about 45 minutes after I posted. I hereby humbly offer up my "Oops...sorry 'bout that, Chief"

Steampunk...well, if'n we be on that subject, and forgive me if this has been mentioned before, but might the readership be familiar with the Scientific Adventures of Agatha Heterodyne, as chronicled by the esteamed (cough) Phil Foglio? There just happens to be an online version, whic may be accessed here---> http://girlgeniusonline.com/ At the moment, they're in a "Cinderella" Xmas special, in case ye be wondering...

Lucky B...living in the Keys like that and gloating about it at us...anyway, growing up in the Army, I lived for a year in Bad Windsheim, in Bavaria...

Me mother, a volunteer at Akron City Hospital and 88 years old, has stated that she wants to wear me shirt and me hat on one of her volunteer days at hospital, after I get back from Disney World. Why after? Cuz I'm a-wearin' of them at Disney World. That's right, I'll be dressed piratically when I'm on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride (and elsewhere)
-
Went card shopping yesterday, and I didn't find *a single* pirate themed Xmas card! Its discrimination, thats what it is!

Freezing rain overnight...just raining now...it's a bloody mess out there, water standing on the streets. Don't need a car, ye need a bloody boat today. Speaking o' which, I been looking at Yachting Magazine (again). Big mistake...its a library copy, and now there's drool stains on most of the pages.

Hmmm...just let me take a bit of a closer look at that third rabbit... Only because the alcohol acts as a detoxicant.
-
Adding me own thoughts on this...the ship vs fort be one...and the Wench Auction be another. I *like* redheads...by there was this one redhead in high school that I...well, never mind. (cold shower time, anyone?) And just by way of gloating...I'm heading back to Walt Disney World on the 26th this month. I will be "re-piratizing" meself on the ride...and then blowing a wad of doubloons in the market attached to the ride. Get me some kiddie picture books that I can use for next years scrimshanding, among other things.

I made that Caribbean Chili...not bad. The peach salsa gives it a hint of sweetness and a bit of bite, altho less than, say, Hungarian sausage. I didn't have it highly seasoned...I don't see the point of Warp 10 chili. I prefer to keep me tongue *unscarred*...I have better uses fer it. But I have to wonder...if it be Caribbean Chili...how would a spot of (dark) rum do in it? Any thoughts on this? Side note on rum: Ever since I first heard about rum, way back when I was *thiiis* high...I've always had in mind a dark liquid. So, of course, in any of my upcoming caribbean cooking, I'll be using dark rum. And altho I don't drink, as a rule, *some* of it is likely to find its way into "containers" other than pots.

To those of ye what be sayin' ye actually like that nasty white stuff... Ye be *Evil* folk!

What, right now? Currently listening and watching (two for the price of one!) to Blue Man Group (How to be a MegaStar), and getting pawed by Ship's Cat #2

Yep, name and copyright date is on it...

Aye, well, when we here got our first snow, before Thanksgiving, I came down sick. Clear proof that I be allergic to The Evil (I seldom use the "S" Word). I checked with my doctor and he said he'd give me a prescription to move down to Florida, but I haven't seen it yet. Remember, never call it S***...call it The Evil...

I'm distributing this at work, belike, with proper and suitable disclaimers attached (to the effect that someone else is to blame for it...)

In re the fire-striker kit...Oooo! What type of flint is that?! (insert breathless pants). Looks like English flint...
-
Why, thank'ee...I do what I can. But there's flintknapping work out there that enters into the area of Art (note the capitalization...)...I've seen Danish daggers made by DC Waldorf that are just...stunning. Anyway, I, like any knapper, have certainly bled for the Art...bandaids and cornstarch are excellent things...
-
But...I don't wear purses... And if yer dagger has *that* problem, consult yer doctor about Detrol...that'll dry that excess wee right up, and save the dagger much embarressment...

Wuz I buyin' drinks? I don't remember! Well, as ye be askin' nicely, I reckon I can spring for yer drink...and such an interesting name for it, too...shall we go over into that nice dark corner and...errr...talk about it? And I been enjoyin' me stay here immensely!

Croci? Didn't I see them in that farm outside of Muskogee? Nah, them wuz alligators...

I've been following this topic for a while, and it's inspiring, I must say. I have a sad confession. I am (sorta kinda) in the SCA...Society for Creative Anachronism. Please don't keelhaul for this. Anyway, I am (very) slowly developing a buccaneer "persona", circa 1630, for this...ummm...group. Well, they won't let me do anything paleolithic, so what other choice *is* there? I have some ideas for kit...well, clothing, at least. Smoke and Fire catalog has a pattern for 1630 breeches that I'm planning on getting sometime...of course, I have to learn to sew, but there's another topic on this site that addresses that very concern. I'd like to thank one and all for your info and hard work. I *still* don't understand why SCA won't let me do anything paleolithic...its downright caveman of them!
