  1. Lucky Penny's Wake Photos!

    Finally, they're up!

An' th' first one up..a charmin' one o' yers truly..muahaha...

    *SNORT!*

Very nice, especially the decorous SNORT, the subtle bird-flipping, and the fact that I appear to be transfixed by something on the ceiling! LOL!

Seriously, good pics, and thanks for posting them!

  2. "OUCH!" *Bumps head on rum cask for third time*

Ahoy Redd!!...I found yer hat in the forward cabin!!...........Carrie, Dunno which copy be yours, but I'll hang on to a copy for ye!..Quill, did ye grab the five copies ye needed??

Thanks, Cap'n! I can't believe I forgot it. I could swear I had it in my hand as I left, but as it's neither with me, nor in me car, nor with Penny, I can only guess I left it in yer cabin!

  3. ...and let us not forget Saber, who with great patience and sympathy endured the pinching and poking of the stumbling, drunken scottsman at the bar! The drunken lad was facinated with Saber's belly and proceeded to give it a poking and pinching while being supported by his friend's, who had to hold him up!  This was the same lad who had requested that I ravish him when I walked in. Sheesh! Ye gotta be soused to try that with a crew armed to the teeth and 5 cannons parked outside!!

Ah, Quill, ye ain't kiddin' when it came to Saber's patience with the drunken Scott. I confess to hanging around near the stairway during that whole episode, thinkin' to meself, "Well, I'm 35 and've never been in a bar fight. This could be interesting!"

  4. Well, I didn't get a lot of great pictures from the Wake (and I managed to leave me CD on Royaliste...dammit!), but here's a photo or two of her flag at night. I'll see what I can salvage from inside Quinn's later, as that'll take some serious Photoshopping (ran out of battery juice and was taking photos in very dim environs!).

  5. Great photos!  What a beautiful sight she is!!!  I can't believe I was there!

    (Oh...greetings from Houston!)

Arg, Is you in me Port wit'out telling me?

Ah, not anymore! I just got home!!!

I wasn't organized enough to post here afore I left, an' I should have! Curses!

I was in Houston for a few days, meeting an old friend of the family. Took one day and went to Kemah (during Buccaneer Days, even!) and zipped down to Galveston to stick my toes in the water. That was about it.

Found out AFTER I got back from Galveston that I missed a tall ship there. Bad plannin' all 'round!

I take it ye live in the area?

  6. besides the obvious, I ain't leavin' for over a half hour from this deck anymore in the near future.........

As formerly stated, if you can pull it off, I'm still pullin' my watch............

??? I must have missed something. Should I even ask why you're not leaving the deck for extended periods of time?

  7. I can do this on the weekends. My guess is the closer to where they are berthed we make this, the more likely they are to accept an invite. They'll need to be close to keep an eye on the ship.

My apologies to the list -- somehow I didn't receive one o' them automatic updates tellin' me there was talk about a BBQ. Stupid computer.

So, I just tuned in late. I'd be interested in a get-together, definitely, although it sounds like the dates're still up in the air.

  8. I just received the video of the telecast from Cracked Carrie!! (Thanks lass, this is great!!) We did indeed get very good TV coverage!

If needed, here is the player you'll need to download to play the file:

    Click to download the player

Here is the parade telecast. Be advised, this is a VERY large file and will take considerable time to download

Click here to download the video!

    Ahoy, Quill!

You can probably reduce the size by reducing the screen-size of the .mpg. I left it bigger than you normally do, and figured you could always resave it smaller if ye wanted to.

If ye can't, let me know and I'll do it here and send another, smaller, version to ye.

Glad it arrived safe an' sound!

  9. Wow. The things I miss when I'm not looking....

Ah, I missed this whole sail.

    But, for what it's worth...

I've sailed with the Royaliste a number of times. I love her and her captain and crew.

    But...

I also feel my spirits lift whenever I see the Chieftain or the Lady. My life is richer because of all three ships. I've rarely had more fun than the day last fall when we interacted with them, and the Aldebaran. Afterward, I had very positive emails with people who'd been aboard the other three, and with the Lady Luck webmaster and everything seemed upbeat. I'm very proud on behalf of our crew that we're now able to go out under full sail--I just wish I'd been there. We've come a long way, with Gary's patient help.

I would love the opportunity to "play" with the Chieftain and Lady again, and very much hope that differences--whatever they are--can be resolved so that crew and passengers on all three can light off their cannons at each other in the spirit of loud, roaring good will!

We're all out there because we love it, after all.
