  1. All's fair in love and chocolate....if it's not attached, it's getting dipped!
  2. So exciting, Calico! Congratulations
  3. I know youuuuuu, Cousin Robbie!
  4. Yaaaaaar! thanks for the advice lass.

  5. Mae shuffles in with a pillow and blanket under one arm, blinking sleepily. Sorry I'm late lovelies....I blame Brig.
  6. 1. Sleep for a solid week BEFORE Brig and I leave for Key West. Maybe then I won't be crying into my mead every night 'cause I'm so tired. 2. Make it in time for the entire parade. (Even though the "run to catch up just in time to stop for a drink and have to run to catch up again" game was kinda fun.) 3. Actually get the rest of our candlemaking gear together and set up for demos, so we don't end up as "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything" again. 4. Attend Hat-Swap 2009. Guess this depends on how well my campaign to stay awake past midnight goes.
  7. Such things only bother you the first time you do them. After that, the fun begins. Speaking of meat left on 'em.... I work at a wildlife center, and people bring in all kinds of carcasses. Not really sure what they think we want with them, but it worked in my favor when my dance troupe was performing at a Pirates of the Caribbean - themed fundraiser. I needed something slightly voodoo-ish for dancing in Tia Dalma's swamp, and that very week our secretary brought in the fresh skeleton of a deer that had died on her property. Then began the fun task of pulling the skeleton apart, deciding which bones to use, and getting them cleaned up. Four days and 6 gallons of bleach later...a new belt was born. I don't think my hands will ever smell the same. Kinda hard to see in the pic, but I ended up using some vertebrae, a jawbone, a couple of ribs, and a scapula. It may not smell pretty...but like Brig said, the noise is great!
  8. Less than a month! Weeee!

  9. And its been a long December, and there's reason to believe Maybe this year will be better than the last I can't remember all the times I tried to tell myself To hold on to these moments as they pass ~CC Best of everything to you all in 2009!
  10. Happy New Year's! May it be a spirited year filled with blessings!

  11. That's just unreasonably creepy.... I have to explain...I don't REALLY think you're creepy! I swear, by my pure pirate soul, that I thought Jack had photoshopped that picture! Brig had to set me straight...and I'm still not sure she's tellin' the truth!
  12. Ahahahaaa! Horse marine...sigh. *giggles*
  13. That's just unreasonably creepy....
  14. I just found this thread! I had an interesting conversation with a complete stranger about the steampunk genre. He told me that he had gone to DragonCon this year, and out of all of the costumes there, the steampunk ones were what he remembered best. He said it nearly gave him goosebumps to see such a cool mix of styles. I'm definitely interested in seeing where this one goes! This is one of my favorite pics I've found so far:
  15. Captain.....if you did indeed step on me, the fairie made sure I didn't feel a thing. After seeing you make it through a hanging without a scratch, I'll wear your bootprint anyday! Thank you all for making this trip so great. It just gets better with every event. Cheeky, I still laugh when I think about "Super Bitch!". Oh, and Posh- or I think we changed it to Sporty- Spice, the image of you climbing that fence will stay with me forever. Love to you all.
  16. I wish it were time for PiP '09. It's freaking snowing here!

  17. Captain Sterling's hug upon our arrival. Could make the worst day better. Seeing so many familiar faces....Mickey and Kate, M.A. d'Dogge, Edward and Lilly, Cheeky, Mary Diamond and Mark, Captain Jim, Silkie, Patrick, the Bone Island crewe, the Callahans, Willie Wobble, and many others. Meeting new friends who quickly became family. Mine and Brig's first trip together in over a year. My first stint as a powder monkey. Nigel's back-breaking hugs. The amazing breakfast burritos Willie cooked. Sleeping like a rock every night, and regretting the fun I missed by going to bed. Ghost hunts in the Fort....and being thankful that I didn't actually SEE one. Walking in the Christmas parade, seeing the reactions a crowd of pirates always draws. Holding Hamish....Callenish and Salty have a perfect baby boy. Carousing on the beach with Brig, Katie, Mistress Lilly, and M.A. d'Dogge Leatherback driving me from the Fort to the camp when my feet had had enough coral for one day. The Captain's laughter. Rusty Nell's beautiful voice filling the cantina. The closing gathering, thinking how easy it is to love people that were strangers the day before.
  18. MD...you look positively feral in this picture. I'm thinkin' I'd be safer with the man o'wars.
  19. Horse Marines Ahhh, dear Captain....you like t've made my drink reappear through my nostrils.
  20. Uh-oh...another one who thinks he is beginning to understand...the first sign of PiP insanity... Reminds me of M.A. d'Dogge's 3 a.m. wake-up call to the camp after his second trip over the fence. I was scraped back to consciousness by Captain Sterling's hungover giggles when our Captain of the Marines finished up his rant with the statement, "I know what I'm talking about...that's all that matters!"
  21. I miss you huney!

  22. Made it home without incident...thank you all for the best year yet at PiP!
  23. Brig: "Yay, we're on our way to Key West!" Mae: "No we're not, you took the Turnpike NORTH! We're on our way to Orlando!" Brig: "Noooooo, we're gonna be late!" Late we may be, but we're on our way.
