  1. I belive this is the production that Christine Lampe (No Quarter Given) is in and helped out with the history.
  2. Well I was wondering whether I should come and visit in the spring or the fall, that's why I wanted to know. I have been to the spring faire and it's terrific, so how does the Devonshire one compare to it?
  3. Hahaaaaa! I just can't invest the kind of money needed for a Klingon outfit- too rich for me. Nor do I wish to try and shove all my blond hair under a head piece.
  4. Hahaaa, I really do have to laugh. When I was working at Universal Studios way back when, my supervisor and I had to do inventory of some stuff in a warehouse. There were about ten of those Klingon headpieces thrown in a box which was of couse abscounded with. Later given to a number of people who wanted them. We also came across the first guns that were used in Star Trek, they were wooden. Got the only two of those, unfortunately, my ex-has one which I had given him. I just can't see myself as a Klingon, no matter how much Stranglehold wants to do it.
  5. I'm glad the Pub could and can further one's interest in such a hearty subject!
  6. I'm in! And I think Boats will be too. However the name Rub a dub dub pirates is a rather pathetic name I think. Something a bit better needs to be thought up. I like the Black Spot Pirates. (with personal preference from me ) I also like the fact that Diego you have gone to so much trouble to get this going. Plus the fact you are willing to sell your van, buy a truck and a trailer to haul everything around it. My hat is off to you! **Be sure and buy a fully enclosed trailer, tandem axle if you can. I speak from lots of experiance.** I know I couldn't possibly make all the events you and Rummy do- I do have pets and getting someone to take care of them for more than one night can be a bit of a problem sometimes. Please do tell me more about the meeting in Fullerton on Dec. 9. Where, and when and all that stuff.
  7. Ok I have to ask, which faire do you think is better, the one in the Spring or the one in the Fall?
  8. I was looking for something different where the rules of dress were less restrictive.
  9. Yes. Though I know better than to get into it with guys that are already spoken for....like you Diego. I'd hate to get Rummy upset by my 'happy hands.' I'd like to bring one of my great cheesecakes to the party if that's ok with all.
  10. Since me an' Boats have connections well installed now over the years, with the head honchos of the Dana Point Tall Ships, we could certianly talk to them about having Stanglehold there, since that group is far more active than that other one there. If'n Stranglehold be interested, please do contact me or Boats and we'll see what we can do.
  11. Though I'm not much of a drinker, as it tends to make me feel 'heavy' as opposed to smoking herbal which makes me feel light. But the far and few times I have gotten totally soused, I get loose and happy hands all over the guys. Then I fall asleep. In High School eons ago, I got drunk on Tequila, never, never again! Talk about being sick....ugh! I can't even stand the smell of the stuff now. At the Escondido faire I was offered some Scotch, which I'd never had, and after I practically choked to death, I never will again.
  12. You are lucky! Now just wait till you get all those tips in your ah....bodice.
  13. Ok, let me be the dumb blond. What are those used for?
  14. I'd like to add that the person on that Board who asked us to come and help is a proven liar. She has caused considerable damage to every group she is a member of. Diego can back this up.
  15. I want to openly thank Harbor Master for sending me a whole bunch of Macaw feathers. They were the kind I really needed. And those long tail feathers are fantastic! So a big Thank You from me! Incase some of you may be wondering or have forgotten, I make incredible hat pins, hair barretts, and favours out of bird feathers. So as a reminder, if you have parrots, parakeets, lovebirds, or any other type of bird that sheds colorful feathers, save them for me and I will make you a free hat pin in exchange. I do have pictures of some of the stock I currently have for sale, if anyone is interested in purchasing some. However some of what is in the pictures has been sold. No pin looks like another, they are all different. I also have some new ones that I don't have pictures of yet. Feathers #1 Hair Barretts Pins#2 Pins#3
  16. I normally wouldn't say this publicly, but DO NOT DO THE BIG BEAR FAIRE! After four years, the people running it, still don't have their act together. Instead of having their check in booth at the entrance, it was well inside the faire, so people had to be escorted there to get their things taken care of. There was no gatelist provided to the three ticket vendors, or anyone else up front, which caused insurmountable problems. When I, Boats and my friend Bob went this year, at the begging of one of the faire Board people we knew, calling for needed help, we were sorely disappointed in what we saw. It was hot, and the three of us working the front, had to tell people to throw their water bottles away before entering the faire. That caused a lot of angry people -finally the San Bernadino police informed the front gate people they couldn't do that, for fear of a lawsuit. This of course pissed off the people running the event. There are no places for people to sit and eat, ANYWHERE in the whole place except a few at a couple of stages. Plus it was horribly hot and hardly any shade to speak of. On top of that, the San Bernadino Police were harassing the vendors and even the one ale stand about many things including not having a fire extigusers in sight. The police do not want this event there and they've made it pretty clear. The people attending weren't real happy with the event either for the lack of afore mentioned seating and shade, and the price of $13.00 to get in...for what? The groups there were the only ones that seemed to be happy enough to have a place to party. This faire is totally doomed to failure because of the way it's being run. I can tell you that neither I, Boats, or Bob will never go back!
