  1. Makes sense to me Jib! We walk by learning first to fall, scoot then crawl, then later a rhythm when little ones master standing and moving. We tend to do many things with a rhythm without even realizing it. I find i adopt a rhythm doing dishes, cooking (learned alot of cooking in a short-order kitchen, everyone has to step in and out of each other's position and steps to keep the orders coming fast and furious, AND to keep from colliding in a very small work area. it becomes a dance of a sort), dialing the phone, typing, sketching, walking of course, and more than i can name this morning with me runnin' a quart low on coffee. the heart runs on a rhythm, as well as breathing, eating and chewing.. so i guess if you think about it, there's not too many things humans do without having at least *some* form of rhythm to it.
  2. *applauds heartily!* Oh Caraccioli, ye break me heart with such a fine rendering as ye have t'ere. i've ne'er heard the classic lines delivered with such lovin' dedication. How t'is pyrate's heart is melted with yer fine, skillful prose! "All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe." Aaaah tis music to me heart. Me fav'rite lines of all!
  3. HAH! i like drum jams of all sorts. and it effects me in many ways, from electrifying to putting me sleep, depending on the beat and the type of drums. anything can be made to make percussion, which is one reason water percussion is one of my favorites. what i found interesting was watching my daughter becoming entranced with watching kids her age (younger, same and older) doing fantastic drum solos on YouTube. heh, lord help me, she want's to be a drummer now! me poor, poor ears! so yes, very sensual, but also many other things as well.
  4. aaaaaah noooo!! Abe Lincoln's been resurrected as a... nonono.. that's just not right. hehe insidious song in the extreme, lol! My kid happens to love Lazy Town. You know of course this means this song is a have to now!

  6. just sitting 'ere waitin' fer the Chinese delivery guy t'show up with dinner for me house of pyrates. i took the day off blast it all! other than that, watching my kid watch an old Star Trek episode. it's fascinatin' to watch them bein'... all fascinated, lol. and contemplatin' what tomorrow will be like with the mate, wonderin' how i can pamper him on Dad's Day.
  7. I began liking pirates as a child watching quite a few pirate movies. I'de come home from school, and the local tv station would accomodate my curiosity and love very frequently, with offerings like Against All Flags, Magic Island, The Black Swan, The Boy and the Pirates, The Buccaneer, Return To Treasure Island, Captain Blood, Captain Kidd, Long John Silver, Sinbad the Sailor and too many more to list. I also got hooked on the Horatio Hornblower book series at about 13, so pirate lore was pretty well embedded thinking by the time i was in high school. Then the advent of movies like Yellow Beard, Ice Pirates, Hook and The Princess Bride, and of course PotC, it was an inevitable slide into a world i had idolized as a kiddo. Pirate stuff is very simply fun! I'm hoping to get a set of pirate garb done for at least my 6-year old and myself, possibly her father too, and then do the one thing i have always wanted to do; go to a Renaissance Festival in period clothes! I'm not new to pirate fun, just new to being able to make the garb and join in on the fun dressed as i should be!
  8. Sharin' a pic of my Mom's Day with you from this year. We live about 2 miles from the beach. Close enough to have the cool, sea-breezes in the evenings and mornings. lol, though now it's pretty much hot both times of day. If you look close at the first one, you'll see the shorebird i was trying to get a pic of.
  9. Well, i X'd me spot on th'map. Pardon the pic, no loverly garb to be seen by the beach in, just me 'simple duds' on a Mum's Day this year.
