  1. *bows deeply* Why thank ye, Zephyr... I've been to ALL the world's lovely garden spots!
  2. Ho tei """"(strawberry alarmclock was a band in the 60's, you crazy cats! "Incense and Peppermints" (most recently in Austin Powers) was their big hit, I believe)""""" tis a wise man you are Capt. Morgan...wise, experienced and well traveled.........
  3. Aaaaarrr and the Limey's curse ta' boot! May the pox find them and have them both till they make repartion!
  4. This is actually a good ides for a forum topic...... like pirate consumer reports........ honor among pirates? maybe not...........
  5. I liked the scrunched up gold lame' too.....Z I saw some coins advertised as authentic replicas (?) the pictures (said to be of the actual items)"borrowed" from a gaming site showing base metal "treasure coins". Looked at e-bay for a place to report the deception, couldn't find anything at that time. Patrick O'brian books on tape advertising "unabridged" 6 tapes (contacted seller told him it would be 14 or more tapes unabridged, he said "Opps, error, thanks", never corrected it). Personally recently ripped off by "prince of diamonds" supposedly silver Lakhsmi pendant, some kind of cheap thing poorly plated (cheap ring instead of the nice bail shown), seller told me to put it back in the enveolpe (came in a bubble bag, wrapped for protection in one square of toilet paper)..... write return to sender on it and drop it back in the mail (yeah, right), decided he was a scamster and filed with e-bay to have adult supervison for the return. Haven't heard from them yet and found I couldn't leave feedback....I'm not going to use e-bay anymore, tired of having to pay for the return/certification/inusrance/signature ...waste of money and time
  6. Strawberry really the first thing I thought was "damn"...I hate getting up in the morning for work, confirmed night person
  7. Strawberry really the first thing I thought was "damn"...I hate getting up in the morning for work, confirmed night person
  8. Aaarrrr, now......not be'n nice..... that's a problem ......unless you're a pyrate.....and be'n sour ............ tis a bad idea until one really has the money for it ............ Z "They do the same things as us in the morning in the same places" ya' know, judging by the behavior of some, they probably don't........
  9. Be kind darlin's he's young, he's good at what he does, he's very nice to look at, he seems sincere...if he's enjoying the attention.....why not....how much better than those sour stars who grumble and complain that people are"looking" at them or bothering them. Who was the sour female who complained "When you're famous and beautiful, everyone just wants a piece of you", You get what you cultivate, right? amusing story, T_A_ (tennis star) was a client of a co-worker ,when I approached the co-worker with a quick question, I heard her say (churlishly) as I walked away , "everyone is coming over to talk to you because I'm here, it's like that everywhere I go". I went to the receptionist and asked her, "Who is the silly b____ (no insult intended) with J____ ?", she sniggered, "That's T_A_, don't you want her auotograph". I had no idea who she was, she wasn't my client.....really I thought it was a bit sad. (and famous people don't pay more or generally make good clients)
  10. Does this mean I'm gonna' get a chance ta' see PotC II while I'm still young enough to be awake for the entire movie? I'm soooo excited. Z
  11. I'd give 'em the sword. I'm very generous with other peoples things. What else do ya need? When the rest of them pass out on yer fyne birthday rum, I'll help ye carry what ever else ye want to yer ship (long as it's not over a certain poundage, ye can carry that yerself)....
  12. Happy Birthday Gary ! I baked ye a small cake and could only put a few candles on it as the appropriate number would't fit in the bottle. I'll cast it inta' the sea tomorra morning and it should drift up the coast an reach ye' by....oh....December maybe? I'd a' sent it by post but they're a bit touchy about things being lit these days (silly, tried ta' send one what looked lyke a cannon and ye can only imagine the turmoil it caused when I walked inta' the post office with it. Silly people, same problem, they don't want anything whats lit, not even for extra postage and certified. I am a wee bit concerned that not sealing the bottle completely (I found that the candles go out after a while when it's properly sealed) might slow it down, but as it is belated anyway a few more months shouldn't matter. And as I'm not a very good cook, a bit a' salt water might improve it (I had a' awful getting the icing to stick to it). I don't cook fer just everyone ya know, but being as yer moonstruck too and I know ye got a iron stomach (from eating those clamshells), I thought Ye'd survive it. Happy Birthday Gary! Love, Zephyr
  13. Fyne threads! Ye' look awsome! I still haven't finished sewing a shirt....arrrr...
  14. And if you still want a map, they could make one for you for about $10,000-$20,000. I'll order two.....Uh, what's yer credit card number darl'n? I'll thoughtfully send ye a copy, have the surveyor sign it..... Will look up "plane table", though I'd prefer simple (ye made me curious). Should I use a graph paper? Will attempt to find a map through the L.A. CO. parks (sure would save time, I could begin marking the botanica instead of pacing), The park people tell me there isn't one and that all the trails are not named so they can't make one themselves (sounds weird I know, but you'd have to live here to consider it). vetching: I live in a section known as the "county strip", we are maintained by the "city" (when they do anything (I mean "if"), my guess is that I will have completed my map ( I don't have a lot of time for this) before I find the right person/department or have any sort of intelligible reply. I think they do it to teach the citizens self reliance. I called Nasau County, New York (many many moons ago) to request a copy of my birth certificate and spoke to one of the two women who worked in that office (she was charming). They made a copy and sent it, trusting me to send a check (not policy, but kind to special circumstances). Real people. Some day I will live in a real town.
  15. Just curious ye sallty dears, was anyone define n' where this long hair would be? I don't remember anyone making the specific part of the anatomy bearin' the hair long or short made certain, though there were a lot of assuming going on by many.... I beg to suggest, it would matter.
  16. Your welcome! And bit your tongue! There is no such thing as too many books! :) Be glad I didn't post the book on ship building timber used on navy vessals c 129-1792. Tlak about maritime minutiae !
  17. Thank you so much, yer a wonder! I'm thinking a' printing a T shirt that says "Please, don't let me walk into a Border's" or "stop me before I buy another book", but I'm concerned someone might take it seriously......
  18. I'll swear it was the Pub psychic who talked, I mean she was paid to talk, saw it all in her crystal ball.......all about...I guess I'd better not say......
  19. Aaaarrrrr and the ministry of silly walks even sillier.... these are really fun! thanks! probably on another thread, but what about serious, historic, authentic sounding shanties....on cd, any recommendations?
  20. I agree, the first was so neatly done I'd be surprised if they didn't keep the creativity/energy/quality...and possibly......dare to dream...even better. I only hope I'm not too old to enjoy it by release date.... .
  21. Thanks, I'll copy it again. Not so much as dancing the terrain as using the practice of knowing how long yer steps are, if I start sashay n' me hip swing will put me off several feet (bellydance), left and right....though equally...... there is a large (ish) lake, well, marsh and lake, pehaps if I'm successful I'll try that too....once the west nile season is over, I've always wondered if ye really can breath through a freshly cut reed........(very mirky, slimy, not me' thing at all, the marsh........)
