  1. Woot Woot WOOT! (Sorry, from my gaming group - but the intent is the same!) You GO, William! From Day 1 when I joined, I noticed the PiP banner being outdated, but didn't know who to post to! Love to see that updated to reflect the swell behind this year's PiP! Oh, and I'd love to know how the Pub developed - must be some great stories, there. Mary
  2. Not sure on the metal type, but I will check and post as soon as I get a reply! William and Callenish - Thank you for the interest ~ I will mark you down accordingly. William - any idea on quantity?
  3. OK, we all need BUTTONS! But the fact of the matter is, buttons are expensive! Especially when you require them in the quantities we are talking about. And that is after you have paid for your linen, wool, hemp, braid, shoes, hat, belt, weapons ~ really, buttons are the last thing many of us want to sink a lot of money into. But a good button makes a difference. What would you say to a good looking 1 piece cast metal button (see below pic, buttons on the left), priced at a mere $0.25 each? These buttons are located at a factory in Italy, and I am considering puchasing a wholesale lot, but will have more buttons than I need ~ Interested persons should contact me directly as soon as possible. For those requiring documentation - the buttons to the right on the grid are military buttons found at the 1715 Plate Fleet wreck site. http://www.artifacts.org/Fleetpage.htm SO? Sew BUTTONS! on your underwear ~ YHS, Mary
  4. PiP 2006, one of the Callahan boys wore rope sandals suring the Walk the Plank contest ~ Needless to say, they got wet. Then they shrunk. I seem to recall his feet being a mess after that ~ Which is not to say that some sandals will work - but I think his may have been hemp? Fayma, you out there to clarify?
  5. Ahh, Liam, such wondrous words thou has wrought! A hearty thank you, to be sure, with hopes we can hear it again! Perhaps at PiP?
  6. Agreed, the first ring is my choice, as well! Subtle, and my favorite color ~
  7. Welcome aboard! You're in good company here ~ Thanks for the rum!
  8. Ahoy there, good Will! I'll have more of the medicinal libationssss you were so kind to ease myself with at the Port ~ any Vitamin C left? Welcome aboard, good friend!
  9. On the contrary! He politely asked, I said OK, but, really, I didn't think he'd drop me that deep! Let alone be able to get me back up again! Truth be told, I had a FABULOUS time dancing with everyrum! ~ ah, that, is... everyone! Did I mention I like dancing? Not skilled, but VERY enthusiastic.
  10. Port Washington - a charming little town, and then there were PIRATES! Everywhere you looked, it seemed everyone was having a good time, getting into the spirit of things ~ It is a compliment to all the hard work done by the organizers to pull off such a fun event, regardless of rain and wind. It was great getting to meet and see so many people from the Pub! As many of you know, I am terrible with names, but good with faces ~ A great personal pleasure was getting to meet Ransom and Bilgemunky in person! A hearty cheer for the recruiting and entertaining done by the lovely MerryDeath and the crew of Fool's Gold ~ I know you will be remembered for a long, long time by the happy children and families you met - I wish there had been more down time to meet and get to know you all better. Cap'n Pete ~ as always, you are OFF THE HOOK! Bounding Main - so cute in their matching lifesavers, and voices I could listen to all day. And the crew of the Archangel ~ better mates I could not ask for, and I am so glad our paths did cross. The memories continue, but I will abbreviate them to simply say I was sad to see it end so quickly, but I look forward to attending again next year!
  11. Lovely job! And Hand Dyed, WITH A PATTERN TO IT? WOW! I'd love to see a close-up of the fabric ~
  12. Wow, Duchess! Super speedy post ~ which I surely didn't expect, given yours having the furthest to travel. Caraccioli and Maeve, yours should be arriving shortly, then!
  13. YAY! Just got a chance to check in - 53+ confirmed PIRATES! How exciting! Glad to see you will be attending, Caraccioli!
  14. Thought I should post here, as a reminder to count me in for at least 2 (give me a holler closer to the time you order - I may need a third).
  15. Oi! Just got me head above water for a minute, thought I would pop in ~ Springtime working in a Garden Center, well, I am sure you can imagine. Caraccioli, Maeve, Duchess, your plunder went out last week. Keep a weather eye on the post!
  16. Good Luck with getting your banana! Keep us posted. BTW ~ My whacked back banana now has 2 leaves, about 12-14" each, working on the third leaf (should be out in a few more days). And I haven't started fertilizing it yet ~
  17. Well done on locating the historical information, PL! Most interesting ~
  18. Brilliant! But, I must wonder, what possessed you to Google that in the first place?
  19. Prayers for a successful surgery and speedy recovery ~
  20. AWESOME! I'm the green one! OK, I'm not that round, but, GREEN! OK, OK, nitpickers, I'm not green either ~ but it is my favorite color, and my eyes are green, as is a large percentage of my wardrobe ~ does that count?
  21. Aww, phooey! Mother's Day weekend, and I work in a garden center ~ there is no way I can attend! Braze, Cascabel, dear friends, I hope you have a marvelous turnout! Raise a glass for me ~ Mary a.k.a. Dangerous Donna
  22. Agreed ~ I hate attending showers. Weddings are a close second. Too many unfamiliar people who I must make small talk with, knowing I will most likely never see them again. So it is very awkward.
  23. Mr_Scabbs, I LOVE IT! Code Monkey rocks!! I really must try WoW, but I don't think I have enough time for yet another addiction ~ besides, that would compete with my HALO2 addiction, and forthcoming HALO3BETAtest addiction ~ d@mn, why can't they make 48 hour days?
