  9. WHAOOHOOOO!!!!...now maybe i can get some of these Trident wounds healed...
  10. Have Heard thru the grapvine....that the "Friends of Fort Taylor" and the "Fort Taylor Park District" are trying to iron out a couple of sticky points....tryin to get an agreed upon plan of action....so anything else at this point would be hear say or speculation....but word should come down the pike Sooner than Later i imagine.... everyone stand down at ease...til we all hear OFFICIAL WORD.....
  11. the biggest compliment we have got so far......that NONE of the scripted parts that the Producers brought for us...to make sure there was a flow to the show...ever made it to air.... everything that made it on the show...was improv'd or off the cuff...the producers have said that there was sooo much that simply couldnt fit do to time constraints...and are seriously considering a 2nd show...of just outtakes
  12. well...i DID get a look...and a stated she was tired...and we were getting yelled at to move faster...and most of it was cut out....i was more afeered about the Red Bikini than Jai...HA!
  13. thw wife saw the bit with the RED BIKINI...and.....thought it was FUNNY!!!! WHOOOHOOOO!!!!...no couch for me!!!!
  14. what i tend to see(staying away from numbers) is an attitude or trend...to create characters based on what the person would "like to have been"...and are simply unable to do so in their "other" life...hence the big percentage of "captains" to "dregs" in the communittee...rather than what they "would have been" i know in our group...we strive to show the differnces of the time, rather than the sameness...class structure etc..hence the events were some are duded up and others are dirtied...instead of competting one way or the other. personnally i Like to Blame....the people who Hired the Event what was there reason for staring the event...was it to show true history? pub crawl? sell Jack Sparrow Figurines? or hot pirate Babes Calanders?(i own 2) the ultimate goal of the event...will usually dictate the personas that attend...more living history? personas? skits? music? demonstartions? clothing? et cetera et cetera.... i personally wouold like to see more events.were the push would lean to the more....true history...but as for now...those events seem few and far between till then...i will be forced wear many hats...fancy and dirty..and something in between
  15. i dont know if i would go that far....we werent privy to the editting...hard tellin how we will appear!?!? we might have set the Pyrtae Re-Enactor Credenace back about ten steps.... for example....i only yelled at the Producers and Robert(the chef) once....for comming up behind me and putting a (albeit plastic) gun to my head...for a bit he was trying to do i raised my eyebrow(THE eyebrow)...and gave him the "DeathLook"....he immediatly dropped it...turned ...and did the bit with DeadEye instead..who reacted more to his liking.... later i explained that ...he had crossed a line...a cardinal sin...in the reenactor realm....tho we use guns and swords and are Pirates...that we ALWAYS USE THEM SAFELY...for we understand that kids will see us...and want to emulate us...and therefore ALWAYS press weapon saftey... i had actually got quite verbal with this to all the prodiucers and the cheffs.... soooooo....watching the promo...thats on for the past week ...at least 20 times a day.... shows Robert(chef) comming up behind me ...poiting the gun to my head...eyebrow raising....cuts to other scene... WTF... the ONE thing i demanded...got put into the promo.....sheesh... ....so...that i think it will be fun to watch and make fun of many of us....not terribly confindent in how much this paticular show will help our footing in the re-enacting world
  16. just a reminder....tommorrow night...WED 31st...FOOD NETWORK: DINNER IMPOSSIBLE : Pirate Peril @ 10pm eastern many Pubsters should be seen i wont say you'll learn anything....except maybe how NOT to eat a Conch!!
  17. we used to make rope (from twine) with a 3 bent nails on a handle, a plank with 3 holes and 2 caneback chairs....my great AUnts down in Tennessee were still makin rope by hand til i was in High School...i got an old tape of it somewheres....mind the hillbilly talk and the eighties hair...but actually pretty simple to do
  18. well...just thinkin here.... .....but many were made of plaster or other such (easy breakable) substance(thinkin paper mache).....filled with flour...or other such "poofy" powder....ash or something like it to make little poofs of smoke..... now of course would not make a sound....but a paper mache "grenado" filled with ash/flour...tossed at folks...visually might get close to what your lookin for...would kinda be like watchin a water baloon toss..pirate style....
  19. but it was the WORST sausage gravy i have ever ate.....tasted like OATMEAL!!!
  20. i must admit, my favorite group was the Salvation Army Ladies with there "Donuts thru Time" and fresh squeased Lemonade....woke me from a dead sleep it did!!!

Consider the line dropped...come talk to me at Fells Point... and not to fret... always remember one colony's privateer is another colony's pirate...besides someone has to play the bad guys and that is so much more fun. 'course its goinna cost ya... ....lets say...oh i dunno....a new blade for the Handsome & Charismatic Captain of the Marines???...perhaps??? merley a suggestion Ha, cost me? Thanks for speaking up Captain. Now I know who to come to for my Dowry. As I am sure having a smithy making swords at a judged event would bring quite a few extra points. :) Your Welcome...that'll cost ya a blade fer the idea....

  23. Do you mean to tell me....THATS why all those guys with camaras were following me 'round?!?!? and here all this time i thought they just liked my cookin?? Edward O'Keefe, LeatherBack, Dead Eye Scarlet Jai and yes....little ole ME.....were the guest Sous Chefs for the Episode. We had 10 hours to keep Robert Irvine and his two cohorts Cuddley George and Snuggly Dave in line to come up with a Pirate Fare fit for ...well a Pirate. which pretty much translated to 10 hours of insults and 1 upidness. how did you JUST NOW here about this???...i think its only been posted about a dozen times so far!!?
