  1. I bought 10 of those classic cutlass swords from bud k when they went on clearance. ..

If you go to rabble rousing and look at the bakersfield halloween pics I posted, you'll see 3 of em crossed together stuck in the ground. For 10 dollar swords, they're perfect!..

I thought they would be total junk, but they're sorta nice. I wouldn't be clinking them against each other, but they're not bad. ..

In fact, I saw a vendor at the pirate faire in ojai selling the same sword (said bud k on it) for $50 bucks! If you want it, buy it. It's only ten bucks. ...

I don't know about that other one. I'm not a real big fantasy blade type person, but the hand guard is kinda interesting.

  2. You Are 8%

Well it looks like you are completely normal. There really isn't much strange about you. You most likely fit in easily with the crowd and don't go against the grain. Don't feel bad that you aren't strange--there are benefits to being normal afterall!

That test is broken or something! I thought I would be much stranger....stupid test.

  3. I have had several pair from different companies and they all are either uncomfortable after a few hours or they slip and slide on everything you walk on. I put insoles in them and they still hurt. The leather soles even after being scored still slip even if i'm walking on grip tape. so far the only shoes I have liked are the ones I made myself out of an old pair of square toed hush puppies. All the ones I find are always black and they always have the flaps for buckles. Does anyone make a pair of comfortable brown pair of rough side out period shoes fitted for being laced? I'm not a shoemaker so please don't say "Make a pair"

  4. I have four pairs of boots from CA Boots. Every order was sent in a timely manner and each pair were exactly what I expected. I would use the company again and also recommend them to everyone. I'm never happy with the finish of anything when I buy it, so I hit all my boots with sandpaper and refinish them myself with an antique staining process. They are horrible with e mails, but who cares when you can have them on the phone and talk to a real person in less than 10 seconds, I was very happy with that part of my purchases.

  5. Welcome Jackknife! From one bilge rat to another! If you want, stop by the pub, drinks all around! After that....head over to the"Yacht Pub" and i'll buy you a dirty martini and a new pink Frock....pink is the new black you know!

  6. I use the English flints as well. I'm lucky in that our local Sutler has a wall of 'em, so I can pick and choose then! I've tried the amber flints, but they were "cut" and most likely not the ones yer refering. The only problem I had with Dixie, the sizes I ordered were not the sizes that were sent...

Harbor Master has some brass to be grinding pyro!...I must have itty bitty balls cause I'd be payin' the hazard fee if it were me!! I gotta buy that man a round of rum and put some gunpowder in it would ya?

  7. I'm Kenneth! Nice to meet up with some other pirates. We have a small guild in Bakersfield, California. It'll be nice to meet some other crews and learn a few things from you guys...; ) Thanks for having me!

  8. Ah! I know what you're wanting! You want that rubbed look like Jack. Alright. The trick is bees wax. Has to be be the real stuff. So get you a bar a start rubbing the life out of your hat. Has to be real fur felt or good wool or you'll just be rubbing for nothing. If your hat gets too floppy armor all works well to stiffen.

Beating up your clothes, do the Hollywood trick. A couple of bricks (not red), black wax, 1/2 cup of concrete, epson salt, water bottle that sprays a mist and a concrete mixer. Throw all your clothes in with your mix a turn it on. Be prepared to re sew some buttons though....Lightly mist your mix and don't use too much concrete....Hope that helps.
