  6. I totally agree with you Maeve. The last half a century did nothing to put a stamp on the beauty of Architecture. I enjoy more of the Greco-Roman, Colonial or Victorian Architecture.

  8. A bit sad. Today was my cousin's funeral. He was buried with full military honors. I was cleaning today and found a picture of him and I when we were kids. How ironic is that? We were dressed up for Halloween, Trick or Treating. He was dressed up like a scary monster with blood all over him and I was dressed up like PollyAnna doll. It was if I had stepped back to that moment and time. I am gonna miss him.

  10. I was downstairs in our library the other day when I discovered a few books I forgot I had. White Roses, stories of Civil War nurses and When a Rose is not a Rose, women who fought in the Civil War, both by Rebecca D. Larson. I just started reading them. The other book I just started recently reading is By Force of Arms by James L. Nelson.

  14. Sterling, dear, although it may be annoying the cricket is a special spirit that brings good luck in to your home. They are very auspicious. And if you listen you can hear the true melody in their song. Consider yourself with a touch of luck in your home and that you are being blessed by spirit.. My mother used to leave an offering for a cricket in or around the house....usually crumbs and a bit of water. And the cricket always blessed her in kind. with much prosperity and song. Just a thought to think upon. Otherwise you may need to get earplugs...hehehe. What I am listening to is the cicada's and crickets....How I love the night sounds.
