  1. LOL...my mom used to sit with a piece of candy corn in her fingers and let the bees drill holes thru the center of them. (She had a unique gift of talking to the bees, which she taught me as well)

Only 3 pieces, now that is sad indeed. If you find them have a few for me please.

  2. My voting experience was painless. I walked in, waited with the wee lad for about 5 minutes, went over and got to vote. Oh, and the wee lad charmed all the ladies that were working the polls.

  3. OH, you might ask why I watch it? I watch the program because after my dad died a couple of years ago I had a couple of unusal experiences myself. Long story and I don't think anyone would believe me anyway. B)

Oh, I am sure I would believe you. I have had many unusual experiences especially with the dead since I was about 2 years of age. I have a lot of stories I could share. And just like Syren, I bring them home some times. And now my son has proven several times already that my gift has been passed down to him.

I watch the ghost hunting shows when ever I get the chance. I find them interesting.

  4. LOL....okay...but I gotta warn ya, I was taught by the best, me mom.

(what's sad, is I haven't had any candy corn yet this year. I gots to go get me some now...LOL)

  5. I have been reading a book called Return of Black Death, the worlds greatest serial killer. It is a very good book and I have become quite interested in the aspect that the plague usually entered by ports of trade. So my question is: Are there any first hand accounts of sailors or ships that were plague infested and what became of them?

The book that I am reading gives a grand scale account from 1347 to the 1600's during which the plague struck. I am hoping to cross reference some of the material concerning the trade routes.

  6. For our Election Day

George Washington is the only president who didn't blame the previous administration for his troubles. ~Author Unknown

An election is coming. Universal peace is declared and the foxes have a sincere interest in prolonging the lives of the poultry. ~T.S. Eliot

How come we choose from just two people to run for president and 50 for Miss America? ~Author Unknown

Mankind will never see an end of trouble until... lovers of wisdom come to hold political power, or the holders of power... become lovers of wisdom. ~Plato, The Republic

  7. Awww, Syren, ya gotta share some of the candy corn...plzzzz. It is one of my favorite treats. I like to nibble on the colors one at a time.

Are there any mini snicker bars in that there pumpkin?

  8. My dearest Lily, my deepest sympathy to you and Edward. I am deeply sorry for your loss.

May the Angels surround you both with love and light. And may the memories of your Father be happy and bright.

I will light a candle for you and him. May the light of Heaven surround him as he crosses over to the Summerland. Know that he is at peace and very happy.

All My Love, Prayers and Thoughts are with you both.

If there is any thing that you need, please don't hesitate to ask. Just give me a call.

  9. Wishin' for a hot toddy...but there is no Drambuie in the cupboard :D

    Cheeky try gargling with tea

Take a cup of hot water with 3 to 4 black tea bags...let soak for at least an hour...at room temperature or just a wee bit warmer...gargle tea...as you gargle try and swallow just a bit...the taste may be bitter, but it does help.

Also try making a hot toddy with your favorite whiskey, sleepytime tea and add honey to it.

I have also found that Salt & Vinegar potato chips help a sore throat as well.

  10. Aye, Rumba, I too will always remember Paul Newman as Butch Cassidy from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. He was one of my mother's favorite actors. He was a true legend and a unique individual. Sigh...a truly great loss. I am deeply sad by his passing. May the light of the Summerland Bless him always.

  11. My crew of shirtless, sweaty, tattooed masons carousing in the scaffolding as they finish building my new chimney.

Mayhaps, that is good eye candy to watch then dear Hester.

Ahhh, a wonderful storm has just blown in....how I love storms....now should I go to bed and listen to the rain and thunder or go runnin' outside and dance in the rain...choices, choices....
