  1. Fabulous pics! Tose have to be the hottest pictures of them all that I have ever seen! The photographer needs a big big bonus!
  2. I think some of it has to do with marketing and some of it has to do with politics of the movie business. Whether Disney wants to release pictures or clips is none of our business. There are teasers on Utube now. But I think Disney really wants everyone to be surprised. I think more people would like the surprises, than those who don't. I also think it is disrespectful of the people who have worked so hard on this series of movies for others to try and spoil the fun for everyone by posting pictures and clips and other things that are not sanctioned by the Disney Corp. At least we at the pub can do our part to help Disney by respecting their wishes and not spoiling the fun for others. Just my two pence.
  3. Glad to hear there will be two reenactor fests. I was worried that Iwouldn't get to go to many more. Well, not till I get my degree and a decent job! But, if I could go out East I think I would choose Williamsburg....I think I will click on the link and vote!
  4. At first Jack was my favorite but, ya know, that monkey is awfully cute.....can't help lovin the monkey.
  5. Well, I have decided on 1890's for the day I will be down there. A nice light blue wool walking suit. I just have to figure out what to do with my hair. I'll have to see how the money goes to know if I can stay overnight. And as it has been said, you don't have to be exactly historically correct there. Just an attempt is good. I went in street clothes last year.
  6. Great story! I think I like this version the best.
  7. Yeah it would be great if it was someone from this site!
  8. Yep, being able to be any century is a great thing about this fest. I was there last year and got some nice fabric for the cowboy thing I do. It was great seeing all the diversity of reenactors. This year I plan on staying longer though. I am trying to talk some other Victorians to come down too. It should be a grand party this year! And I will definitly look you up when I get there.
  9. Good work, you should finish the story, it would be a good read I think.
  10. Just had to share this. I was driving to Illinois this morning and just happened to come up behind a big black truck with Wisconsin plates that read PIRATE. How cool is that??? Another pirate on the same road as me at the same time. Any body else have a personalized license plate?
  11. I'm planning on comming down for part of the weekend. Don't know if I will be in garb or not, I can't decide which century to be yet. I don't have any pirate stuff yet. See you all there.
  12. I am hoping to go to this event. I am all for learning things in a hands on fashion. I hate just reading about things, I want to see the stuff. Makes it more real that way. Plus I can maybe meet some of you in person.
  13. I know we don't know each other but, please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. Crowsnest Kate
  14. Yippeee!!! Can't wait to see everyone in Port Washington this next summer!
  15. Great job! A fine place to hang out and quaff a few tankards of ale.
  16. Hey CapnJake, will Tom and Rick be back for the fun? I really enjoyed seeing the two of them there! (Can't remember their character names) CK
  17. I have been told and I have read that history is interpereted by the writer of said history. And those who write history are prone to scewing the history in the direction of thier beliefs and social status. It depends on which side you are on and who is doing the writing that determines what is true or which truth is believed. History will always be a debate on any subject, even the bibles truth. And since we do not have any book other than the bible on the creation debate, we can only speculate what is truth and what is not. It will be an interesting thing to discuss at any rate. Just my two pence.
  18. I don't have cats but, I did have a siberian husky until this summer. He didn't shed, he molted! And I always had a dog hair or two in whatever I cooked, baked or drank. But, I now have some very nice wool made from his fur and lots of fond memories. Does any one else know about molting dogs?
  19. I am a professional seamstress/costumer and a part time student. I have also been an office manager warehouse worker factory worker farm hand stockroom worker Hoping when I get my associates degree in surgical technology I will have a much better second half of my life. Finacially anyway.
  20. You have posted some very profound thoughts here hitman. I too have seen many sights and experienced many things that have brought the same thoughts to my mind. The world is full of contrasts and contradictions that we sometimes do not understand. Your job is one of hardships and long lonely hours on the road. Yours is a job underappreciated by most people, they do not understand your sacrifices in the sometimes dangerous path you drive down. And when thoughts are at times the only company one has on the road, it can be a long and lonely road too, far from family and friends. Thank you for your sacrifices and your courage. I have met many truckers in my life, traveling with my father, and I have grown to respect most of the men I have met who do the work you do. Just my two pence Crowsnest Kate
  21. I wish I wasn't so far away, I would have liked to come out to get a copy.
