  1. So is this where we get to post all our "fun" pics of poor ol' Clay? **starts digging thru Pyrate Con pics**
  2. PLEASE dont give her any ideas mate!
  3. I'd be in that group! Heck, I AM already plannin' for '09. I'm just prayin they keep it in April or after.....
  4. Yes, apparently the other Hector constructed near 90% of the pistol he had. From what I saw of it, it looked pretty good.
  5. Bah! Ye be teamin' up on me know eh? I like me these odds!
  6. If'n the shoes still be available, I'd be interested in a pair, Dear Mary.
  7. Heh, that he did! He had a bit o' coat envy in him. However that was fixed to a degree with his sword happiness, heh.
  8. Thanks, Lady B. The wife be my tailor. I'll pass yer compliments on to her. Shes registered here; I'm trying to get her to actually post once or twice...kinda board shy, she is.
  9. Another lurker from the shadows here. Had a blast at Pyrate Con. Was fortunate I got to spend most of the time hanging out with Greg, Jo and Cap'n H. Some of my best friends there. It was great meeting everyone I did. Look to see you all next year! Have my pics up here: www.myspace.com/madjackscove http://captainteague.hi5.com
  10. Thank ye both, Cap'n Sterling and Master Eye. We're trying to form up one, aye, Master Eye. Slow going it seems though....
  11. Aye, that's possible! I'm all about sharin rum, you see!
  12. My day job is to sleep! I'm one of those crazy graveyard shifters. So by night, I'm a police/fire dispatcher at 911. The rest of the time I'm either Daddy to my 8 year old Pirate Princess, or moderating the sites I run. One for the local Star Wars group here and one for the pirate group I'm trying to start. My other costuming interest is Star Wars, member of both the 501st and Rebel Legions.
  13. Thank ye Cap'n Emerald. Yer most likely right in our path crossin and not knowin...have to be more watchful me thinks next year. And here's a mug raised to the future of RFotM! Hope to be a part of it someday, I do. Ahhh! Here's a friend for ye, pyrateleather! How be, matey? Aye, ye pegged it. That photo was indeed taken on yer front porch. Damn me eyes but its good to see ye here. Let me fill yer mug from me own special bottle! Much like the weekend we spent in yer shop with Bloody Mary keepin ye warm with the Pyrat! Haha!
  14. Great work all! It's amazing to see all the talent here. As for me, I got none! Just lucky enough to have a wife who likes to sew and views my constant wardrobe changes as a challenge and not a chore, as you shall see... I can chart my changes by coat: I started off with the green coat: Then moved on to the tan coat: Then to my current maroon coat: Now I know the maroon is probably the least likely of them all, but we wanted something flashy and showy, as it's what I got married in. Yup, a pirate weddin', with the grooms men all pirates and the bridesmaids all wenches. We even got the Judge to wear the tan coat during the ceremony, and he liked it so much we let him keep it. I'm currently planning version IV AND V, to hopefully debut at Pyrate Con in April.
  15. Nay, that werent me. I posted in the seeking pirates thread he did, hoping he'll see. Our courses may cross sometime. It seems a big world, but at times a small ocean, and ye never know whose wake you'll be crossin. And speakin o' wakes and courses, our humble ship is called the Valkyrie, an ode to the pirate of old, the Vikings, as it were. Consider the Valkyrie a friend indeed, should we come to share some sea someday.
  16. Thank ya! I currently call Omaha me home port and consider the Renaissance Faire of the Midlands in Council Bluffs, IA me "home" faire, though I also try to hit the Nebraska Ren Faire, Des Moines, Riverssance and KCRF. I have heard rumors of something piratey happening up here next October though.... We was gonna try to hit the St Louis Pirate Fest next year, but me first mate and I (ie: wife, heh) decided to forgo that so's we could go to Pyrate Con instead.
  17. Thank ye for the welcome, Lady Barbossa and Jacky Tar. The drinks be my pleasure. A bit more 'bout meself you say? Well there was the weekend in Port Royale with the constable's daughter, but she was much more wild than any story I could tell. Then there was the week in Tortuga, but some things are best left unsaid, if you take me meaning. Of course there was the month...maybe two...I spent in Madagascer....if I ever make it back... But the story that I stick to these days is that I'm a simple man, just trying to make my way in the wide world. Landlocked in the prairie sea, I'd say I venture the middle ground between Hollywood and authentic, and tend to cruise the local Ren Faires. I love the history of the pirates, and to tell the truth of it, even if contradicts meself at times. However I've always loved the imagery of the Wyeth and Pyle paintings; the swashbuckling of Flynn's 'Captain Blood'; the campiness of 'Yellowbeard' and 'The Pirate Movie'; and of course the eye candy and fantasy of 'Pirates of the Caribbean'...Barbossa rules, I say! I'm currently trying to form up a crew o' like minded scallywags round these parts and to start doing things as a group, but it's been slow going. Hoping to change that over the coming winter months. But now me tankards run dry and I think I need to filler back up sez I!
  18. Meself and a few others are trying to get something going in the Omaha area if that's near enough for ye.
  19. I give ye all good day...evening...morning...whatever it may be. Not quite sure meself ya know...its the rum. I be Jack Morgan. Mad Jack as somes calls me. (Use a Guvner for target practice once or twice and people suddenlys think you mad!) So open the casks and have a round on me and tells me whats doing?
