  1. I meself am rather upset and a bit nervous. Saturday while 'playing soccer' orrather i went to go hit a friend with my hat and i was running and I guess rolled...who konws..but mixed with alcohol i managed to sprain my ankle wicked bad. Least though from what I've been reading about symptoms I think its a sprain maybe I should stop drinking for a while, it always end up in some type of bodily harm.
  2. Hey, I picked up a fife at a civil war reenactment last weekend just fer kicks. Anyone else play? (or attempt to?)
  3. First off..I've had enough rum and beer to warrant a whine. ha ha! Secondly..I just graduated college, now I'm home for the damned summer in upstate NY with the parents. Which is bothersome because for one all my mates are a good 5 hours away in massachusetts. Seconldy I'm not even working and I dont for about another two weeks. Even so..I'll be working ina damned kitchen. 4 years of college and I end up working at a childrens camp as a bloody cook. It's time like this I wish I could hope aboard a ship an' say th' 'ell with modern times. Gods mnow I must get out of living at home come the end of the summer. Maybe I'll head me arse to Boston. Anyways, this shot goes out to all here, cheers!

  5. Aye, I was shown Alestorm a while back by a friend. I happened to be metal hunting one day, saw theird album and without a whim bought the heck outta it! I love them! One of the better heavy metal bands I've heard
  6. In my current confusion, I figured I would come here for some advice, or if nothing to vent. Wednesday night I was at a Halloween party and I got fairly intoxicated, I was keeping my eye on my friends girlfriend because when she drinks she gets overly friendly, lets just put it that way. Now I learn from her early on that she broke up with her boyfriend, Matt, and since Matt and I had a fallout a month or so ago, I didn't feel that I was friends with him anymore so, as bad as it sounds, she was fair game, lol. Anyways, we get to talking back in my room and I guess she actually likes me, yadda yadda yadda, we talk for half an hour, then go back to the party because I only came back to go to the bathroom cause the line was long. Long story short, I walk her back to her apartment, she gives me back my coat I offered and before the stairwell to her 3rd story apartment, I guess she leans in and says 'is this awkward for you?' I say a little, and think about the consequences that could result, but go in for the kiss. It's been something I've wanted to do for nearly two years of knowing her and now that they're broken up, and Matt is more of an acquaintance now, I saw it as OK. I learned yesterday that she told Matt drunkenly what happened so I can't help but think I was perhaps used to make Matt angry or jealous or something? I would like to talk to her about it, but I guess she's gone back home to Maine for the weekend, only time will tell how this is going to end. Thanks for letting me vent, ha ha.
  7. I'm sitting around in my room drinking alone. Waiting for the phone call to go somewhere ha ha!
  8. Bored. I was thinking..this past weekend I went down the Saco river in Maine with a bunch of friends dressed as pirates, haha and we ran into a bunch of jerks. I was thinking how great it would have been if I had a flintlock pistol..but loaded with riot control rubber bullets? Would that work at all? haha
  9. (Well, this used to be an old post on another message board I used to frequent years back. I figured since I rarely go there any more why not try to start one here?.) Feel free to tell us anything about your love ( or lack thereof) lives, be it good or bad. Perhaps we can use this as a means for 'guidance' for those who aren't quite so learned in the relationship business (me). ----------- There is this girl I work with, we flirt like no tomorrow, ha ha. So last Thursday I go up to her and ask her to a movie..she stonewalls the crap out of me and it ends in 'Go home Mike' ha ha I get quite the laugh about it now, but man that night wasn't so fun, especially since I didn't have any rum in the house. Alas. The only reason I asked is because I learned she broke up with her boyfriend sometime last week and she didn't seem too shaken up by it. Of course this has to happen just as work is about to end, typical with me. Ha ha. I don't know where to proceed with this to be honest, should I ask her out again, just let it be, or what. - Mike
  10. I'll admit I haven't been keeping up to par with my workouts lately. I guess the floor in my barn has cracked so that needs to get fixed before I can go back to my weights. Hah excuses I know.. Guess I'll just have ta keep to bodyweight exercises for a while, that'll be fun.
  11. I currently 'play' Guitar (Acoustic and Electric) Didgeridoo Alto Sax (Here and There) I'd like to take up violin lessons in the near future.
  12. Aye, thanks mates. I got a pretty good idea of what I want to do now.
  13. Bloody upset with me coworkers..among other things. I was supposed to work with this girl I like tomorrow morning. She decides to let me know that she doesn't have to work..in a manner like she's rubbing it in. I wonder if this had any bearing on the fact that I tried to ask her out and failed... On another note..not a damned drop of rum in my house to make things all better. Boo.
  14. Unfortunately what I call 'calligraphy' is just the Edwardian Script font I have from microsoft word, I printed out the alphabet large enough so I can see it clearly. I have an awful time to try and replicate the style. I've looked into some calligraphy books at me local library but haven't found any really worthwhile. I bought a quill with a steel nib from Barnes and Noble a while back so I've been using that. Soon though I intend to get a real quill perhaps from Jas Townsend.
  15. Ahoy, I've been getting into 'calligraphy' lately and I'm looking to make perhaps a Letter of Marque or like an articles of pyracy document for a friend for a gift. I'd much rather have a letter of marque for they seem a bit more appealing, but I have found said articles already so I have plan B ready to go if necessary. I was wondering if anyone has any good ideas on the best way to go about this. PS. I remember seeing (not on here unfortunately) a replica of the letters of marque from POTC 2. If anyone has a pic of those I'd very much like to replicate that. Take care.
  16. Roughly about 4 weeks ago, I was recommended the book, the abs diet, by mad matt so I ordered it from my local library, read and started it within a few days of getting it. Now I will admit I haven't been able to stick to the routines of eating about 6 meals a day, after all they frown upon eating in the kitchen while you are preparing food for people :-p But I've been doing my best in trying to change my eating habits and I've been exercising every other day with weights, and just doing some basic cardio those days I'm not using weights. As I said before it's hard for me to stick to this as I work in a kitchen at a children's camp where we don't exactly serve the healthiest of meals, ha ha. But I've been doing my best and, while the scales don't show any weight difference (I don't bloody trust those things, especially the one i have) I'm starting to feel the difference. I feel I'm on a good path to becoming healthy and I'm looking forward to the future. Thanks mad matt for the recommendation!
  17. Some form of Penne with marinara sauce, franks red hot and some olive oil.
  18. Aye, truth be told, I'm going to be getting into Rev War reenacting in the near future, and I figured I'd ask here because there are a lot of savvy people. A period musket doesn't matter to me at my current status because I have wanted a Brown Bess for a long time. I do however appreciate you pointing that out to me as I don't have much knowledge of the GAoP, so thank you!
  19. Hey all, I've been browsing various muzzle loading sites looking for the best prices for a long land brown bess. The best I've been able to come up with for a working musket is from the Middlesex village trading company for about $600, complete with sling and bayonet, hammerstall and flashguard. I was wondering if anyone else has found any good prices for a brown bess musket. (Or if you purchased one from MVTCo, I'd like to get your input about it.) Cheers!
  20. I had a quick question Say I bought wool felt at a craft store, could I theoretically use that to form a hat? (as opposed to buy a hat blank and just shaping it)
  21. You scored as a Indiana Jones Indiana Jones is an archaeologist/adventurer with an unquenchable love for danger and excitement. He travels the globe in search of historical relics. He loves travel, excitement, and a good archaeological discovery. He hates Nazis and snakes, perhaps to the same degree. He always brings along his trusty whip and fedora. He's tough, cool, and dedicated. He relies on both brains and brawn to get him out of trouble and into it.
