Pirate Village, Thieves’ Market & Pirate Pub at Truman Waterfront.
hurricane replied to hurricane's topic in Fort Taylor
Ahoy all! An update! Just found out that the WOLF will be doing the bulk of her sailings from the Truman Annex Pirate's Village and Thieve's Market Wednesday through Sunday during the festival. We are expecting around 30 to 50 vendors in the Market now that Suzi has taken over the management of it and the new Pyracy Pub is underway as well there, right next to the stage. It's going to be a great event this year! -- Hurricane -
5th Annual National Walk the Plank Championships
hurricane replied to hurricane's topic in Fort Taylor
It looks like the WOLF and the National Walk the Plank Championships will be at the Pirate's Village and Thieve's Market this year instead of at the historic seaport. Spectator viewing will be aboard ship and on the Mohawk as we bring the righteous contestants aboard and send them to their watery graves. Who will be ascending to the crown of Champion this year now that D'ogge has been retired as Grand Champion (until some wins four at least). -- Hurricane -
Tent Footprints 2010 for those camping at the Fort
hurricane replied to Capt. Sterling's topic in Fort Taylor
Does anyone have an update on the camping situation? We're only two months away and I am getting asked (offline through piratesinparadise.com) if there is any room to camp. I had a crew today say they were coming down to camp at the fort, thinking it's like last year and had to tell them that camping is limited this year. Is it full? Is there an update? And who do they contact via email so I can just get them off my plate and onto someone else's? -- Hurricane -
Gotcha, that makes a lot of sense, Jas. Thanks for the clarification. Love the tips by the way. I have some other pieces that I don't like the shine on and don't want to wait for time to take its course. -- Hurricane
-
I'm not sure how that adds to the period nature of the piece. I have had a brass hilted cutlass for 30 years now. It has been dropped into the salt water, been buried in the sand, been left out in the weather, left in the bilge of a ship - just about anything a regular weapon would have undergone and the hilt is still brass in color. If I recall, it was the duty of all sailors (pirates, et al) to keep their weapons in top condition, which would mean 'like new' in most parlance. Am I missing something here? -- Hurricane

Would love to be, but we're at a community fundraiser here in Ft. Pierce. Dang, hate when things pile up. -- Hurricane

It's right here Willie. http://fortmyersbeachpiratefest.com/ Unfortunately, I have got to get my lines down for our voyage to Oregon, so I can't come play. -- Hurricane

Sounds like she visited Pirates Adventure in Florida and stole the idea. They closed Dixie down here because it couldn't compete with the other dinner shows in the area, and of course, The Mouse. -- Hurricane

Sorry to hear that lad. Thought it may end up that way. After OSC we hit the Wine Bar in Winter Park and were the usual centers of attention there (the only ones in costume always helps). We were invited to go to Redlight Redlight but had a little too much of the grape to wish further imbibement with a 2 hour drive back to the housienda. Good times at OSC though. -- Hurricane

Pirate Village, Thieves’ Market & Pirate Pub at Truman Waterfront.

For those wanting to vend at the Pirate's Village & Thieve's Market, our new vending coordinator Suzi King has a new form up. If you've been to John's Pass' pirate event or the Treasure Coast Pirate Festival in Stuart you know what a great job Suzi does. The link can be found at: http://www.piratesinparadise.com/vendors/index.html Note - this is not for any vendors in the fort. This is for all the others so if you know of people vending who don't fit the "period correct vending", this is the form they need. -- Hurricane -
Thanks for keeping your captain in the loop and working with Melanie and keeping her up to date about the car issue. Appreciate it sir! And it was great meeting you. Shame we were so busy entertaining that we didn't have more time to talk. -- Hurricane

Yes, Willie is a master of the bottle wrap. I saw some really cool new wine bottles in the Stuart Publix the other day. I should have emptied them quickly and handed them over to Willie when he was there. I know Willie, more work. :) -- Hurricane

Love that idea! It makes babies much more useful. -- Hurricane

Should be fun. Can't go wrong with gunfire, swordplay, pirates and wenches in a public facility. Now all I need to do is smuggle the rum past Crusher. - Hurricane

For SALE: Gentlemenoffortune.com
hurricane replied to Gentleman of Fortune's topic in Thieves Market
Whoever is smart enough to snatch this up will be a "fortunate" gentleman indeed. Not hard to take it from where it is today to another level entirely. -- Hurricane -
Boy did you get a treasure. I have a couple of Willie's bottles. They are on my "house on fire, grab!" list. Wish I had know about it yesterday when I was with Willie down in Stuart. Could have put the thumb screws to him - or better, Caribbean Pearls' assets. :) Congrats, lucky girl! -- Hurricane

Got your message, sir. I'm on it! -- Hurricane
-
It'll be good to finally meet you sir. We will be there bright and early, loading in at 9:30 if you want to lend a hand and then from 10 to 4. I have two on stage Hollywood vs. History sessions, one at 1:30 and one at 3:30, then doing a life on a pirate ship on the floor with the kiddies. Also bringing along all my movie artifacts, including my new bell from the Morning Star from Cutthroat Island, along with rubber guns from the movies, clothing and such for the wenches to showcase at our booth. Should be fun. - Hurricane

Hhm, never heard of it. Unfortunately, our crewe is tied up (now there's a visual) with the Orlando Science Center event that weekend. -- Hurricane

Dang, why didn't they have this when I lived up there? Would have loved it. -- Hurricane

For those wishing to hotel camp, :), The Double Tree Grand Key Resort has a "Conch Republic Navy" room cost for the festival of $109 plus tax. Put four in a room and it's $30 a night, including breakfast there I believe. They also have a shuttle that takes you into Old Town. The Pyrates of the Coast and some of the entertainer crewes will be staying there so someone will always be going back and forth to the fort, the Truman Annex and points beyond (wait, that's the ocean). Warm showers and fresh towels, plus breakfast. Ahh! Music to me ears! http://doubletree1.hilton.com/en_US/dt/hotel/EYWDTDT-Doubletree-Grand-Key-Resort-Florida/index.do -- Hurricane

Ahoy all! We are currently looking for any performers who will want to perform on stage at the Thieve's Market Stage at the Truman Annex. This is the same stage that will be having the Tall Tales contests and the tryal. We will be filling the stage with other acts with a nautical flair. If you or anyone you know of wants stage time, email me and I will see if we can fit you in. The stage will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We are looking for chantey singers, individuals, bands, storytellers, children's entertainers, etc. Email me at hurricane@piratesofthecoast.com As always, there's no money. But there's plenty of fame and glory to be had.

Ahoy there Ravanos. We are based on the Treasure Coast and cover everywhere from Cocoa to West Palm and points inland to Orlando. In fact, we're at the Orlando Science Center in another week or two.
