In spite of rough waves and heavy winds against them, Mr. de Dogge and Sterling heard the sudden wail from the beach. The Marine Captain's brow raised as he looked down at his captain huddled in the bottom of the boat. Ordinarily Sterling would have shaken his head no, but the discomfort now proved too much. He raised himself slightly to peer toward the shore but in the night he was as good as completely blind. Still there was no mistaking the voice. "Take me to the ship. Do not stop," he shouted above the wind. "Someone on that island wants me dead and for the life of me I do not know why...but I will put good money in a wager that Mistress McKinney is at the bottom of it all. I need to lay me down... and make ready to get us away from this blasted place. Tomorrow, a few of you can slip back to the beach then fetch her. I know where she can be found." De Dogge nodded in reply and the craft continued onward toward the Angel. Sterling shifted trying to bring himself a little ease but found none. The only thing to do was to wait until he was back in his own bunk away from the troubles the land always seemed to bring with it. That and the women that lived there. He closed his eyes, it was time to rethink his entire life... who truly needed a woman such as Nelly Greene, no better than the actress when it came to affairs of money or of the heart... no, they were cut of the same cloth, never to be trusted, as faithfulness was not part of their vocabulary... and as to Aurore... well no man wished to be around a wife that did not know they even existed. He sighed, hands coming up to cradle his head. It was time to start a fresh, find out the truth behind his so called crimes and concentrate solely on his ship and crew. A fresh start in every sense of the word.

The inside of the demo is sealed in natural beeswax.... which did hold up okay during the test run at Beaufort this past weekend.... But I think I am going to upgrade to using brewers pitch for the inside. I will probably continue to case harden the leather with beeswax, but add pitch to the inside to ensure good product qualtity. So I am going to hold off on taking orders for about a week I want three, can you use black leather?

Must agree with Rats... a two day event plus the half day of Friday would be really nice...

Well bad powder, oil or not, ( and this would be my fault) I want to say thanks to my angels for all their hard work, as usual. You not only work hard during the scenarios but you play hard the rest of the time as well... damn but you looked a million times better than the real dummies in the museum...and falling off the docks on the ground wellllll what can I say...(and do I really want to say anything? Do I really want to admit that the drunk pirate...oops sorry not pirate but landsman...marine....that did so was not really drunk and was one of mine?? Do I Maddogge? And the bloody fact that I MISSED IT!!! Hmmm) A hearty thank you to Blackbeard's crew and the others, as always it was a treat to work with you all. I also want to say thank you to all the event organizers, they put on a great show, and really took fantastic care of all of us, from the gigs and their crews to all the vendors who supplied the meals. Captain Sinbad was a terrific host and a pleasure to swing for. It was a tad nerve racking about the hanging, but I am glad we were able to go forward with it for the Beaufort folks and the screaming crowds... the flogging was a great extra thanks to Callenish and Dutchie (who liked it all too much and went back for seconds, not to mention Dutchie, looking completely insane when the crowds shouted "hang him" ...must have been that ear to ear grin on his filthy gob, yeah he looked worried about his future)

Aye, was not happy with the guns AT ALL....Mike said he had to re-seat my flint but the buss still wouldn't work until I got it to flash in the pan. Which was the weirdest thing as it seemed to be burning in slow motion. I have never seen powder react that way. He said it worked much better after that... so I reckon it was the oil in the barrel because I forgot to tell him to swab it out before the first shot.. I just assumed he would know to do so... so my bad. I have never had a problem with my buss until the flint chipped but that was fixed at Hampton... What powder was everyone using?

I spoke to Blair yesterday, and according to him, my order was in the process of being shipped from the factory to their place in N.S. I Hmmm we've been getting this same story for about a month now... along with the "we have them in hand, just have to sort and ship to the crews..." We even paid to have them rushed in time for Beaufort.... still no shoes...

That's right...ye haven't met Maddogge yet... remind me to place you down wind of him come Beaufort.. I gave him brand new kit at Lockhouse a couple years back, nearly had a nervous breakdown after all that sewing and he had it "aged" in less than an hour... scary really.... Honestly no one in our crew has washed anything in over three years except the officers' shirts as we do have a laundress on board... my turtlehead lace hasn't been washed in over three hundred years...snigger.
