  1. Alafia starts today for those camping but the public days are next friday saturday, this is almost Alafia weather we are having here in Fla , its usually close to freezing I'm planning on next saturday to be Wobbling around there

  3. Jan 27-29, 2012: School of the 16th Century The annual School of the 16th Century will take place on the last weekend of January at the Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park in St. Augustine. Encampment setup will occur on Friday, January 27. 16th century-related displays, demonstrations, training drills and interpretations will take place all day Saturday, January 28 and Sunday morning to early afternoon, January 29. This is the only Historic Florida Militia event at which visitors in non-period clothing (clothing must be made of all natural fibers for safety reasons) are welcomed to participate in educational and weapons training. This year's school will include a ladies' needlecraft practice and craft session. Encampment teardown will occur on Sunday afternoon after the event's conclusion.   10. time for another years post ,old posts still has many pictures from last years raid Greetings from the Officers and crew of Drakes Men. This years 25th ann. of Drakes. Being so plans are in the works to make this years event truely special! Arival for set up in camping will begine at 12 noon June 2nd at the Fountain of Youth. Your tent and gear must be time period correct. We ask you remove your vehical from the grounds once you have unpacked , please do this before you set up. No vehicels will be allowed after 8am sat the 4th- until sunday morning the 5th. This year we will have a perade to annouce the siting of El Drako(Drake) this will happen the 3rd. We will muster at 5:30 on the corner of St George and Cathedral downtown. We will be honoring Robert Hall the father of reenacting in St Augastine. To end the perade we will be firing muskets and drilling at the redoudt. Diner and jollification to follow at FOY The taking and burning of the town will be Sat. June 4th.   12. Ivan ,thanks for the images as one of the many projects i'm working on is attaching rope to sail cloth , i've got as far as putting a turned up hem around the cloth and about to attach the ropework shortly ,your first immage is what i'm looking for ,thanks for the reasearch.
