  1. I agree with Lady Snow, way too cute! And I love (are you ready for this...) the outfit, not to mention the small version of the sword... what is that, a rapier?
  2. *stumbles indoors, a bottle in one hand and a twig in the other* ...heh...whassit... there a midnight buffet around this joint?
  3. Have fun and safe travels. And aye! take lots o' pictures for us, please. Until Sunday... fair winds and smooth... driving.
  4. Obsessed with raisins, humiliated grapes really- eunuchs the lot o' them
  5. Soup Nazi (as from Senfield when Elaine made fun of the soup nazi by saying he looked like Al Pachino)
  6. Greetings and welcome- I am a huge anime maniac, however, about 'One Piece' I must say I agree whole-heartedly with John Young. One Piece just isn't a pirates bottle o' rum, iffen ye catch my drift. I myself prefer 'Pirates of Dark Water' over OP. The pirates aren't the best thought out characters- especially Arlong and his 'mermen.' And Monkey D. Luffy... honestly? Really, I like my share of Anime, but One Piece just hasn't made my list. Sorry.
  7. I wonder what it would be like to actually visit the original place of the catacombs- freaky yet cool at the same time, me thinks. According to the exhibit I visited last month (the Catacombs Replica at ASC) there was an old man (unknown name I think it said) who was a survivor of the plague- he dressed in a long overcoat, a hat and wore a bird image mask (complete with beady eyes and long beak) It was said that he placed the petals of roses and posies in the mask's beak to ward off the negativity of the Bubonic Plague. Also featured was the fact, that the spread of the plague was futher advanced due to 'nobility'; they believed that the plague only affected the lower income/houses of their society and therefore snubbed most (because rats infested the streets more in the run-down areas of Paris) and once wind caught that fleas had something to do with it, they started gathering and killing all the dogs and cats within the city, thus allowing the growth in rat population. Thats what ye call ironic- killing the one thing that could have saved the majority of them. *shakes head*
  8. You mean the story isn't true after-all?!?! *faints* Damn... so intriguing. After hearing this I'd be worried that the 'Ring-around-the Roses' ryhme too isn't true, but I've almost definite proof it is since a place here in Nashville called the Adventure Science Center sports a fairly large replica of the Paris Catacombs in which numerous bodies of those killed by the Bubonic Plague are buried. (Sadly, the site does not offer any info or images of any kind on this exhibit )
  9. *glances in the mirror* I think ye got the wrong wench
  10. Did Phil break the counter by dancing on it? (j/k) Looks like more than just a hurricane came through here though.
  11. wow, those are some good costumes/pictures. I dont have my scanner hooked up now so no pics of mine ('sides I dont think I have any pics) of the last three years I've celebrated Halloween at work, but for so long I didn't (was told I was too old, lol) But the past 2 years I went as a 'quick-thrown-together-ina-hurry-makeshift-pirate' and the year before that I went as a painter's drop-cloth. One year I'm gonna go as a white sheet that says "chicken" (or bull) across it so that I can be Chicken Sheet. Btw- Rogue Mermaid, love the costume- you remind me of Demona from the Disney cartoon Gargoyles. Two thumbs up!
  12. wow... that map predicts for it to hit my state 3 hours west o' here. We could use the rain- hopefully it will weaken by the time it hits land enough to be just strong winds and rain and nothing too malicious.
  13. Well read, sir. Very interesting find indeed- and something that will most likely stick with ye fer many years to come. (The only ryhme I know of having been created under true afflictions is Ring around the Roses- though it has nothing to do with pirates, its quite an intriguing story in itself) -TW
