  1. Here is an other resource for pirate coats. http://www.whitepavilion.com/men.htm I have two, and I am very happy with both. The web shows only one color, but they have others (Red,Black,Brown and Green). I have the brown and the green. Any question, be glad to help. Just jerry
  2. Here is the plot summary: Folklore collectors and con artists, Jake and Will Grimm, travel from village to village pretending to protect townsfolk from enchanted creatures and performing exorcisms. They are put to the test, however, when they encounter a real magical curse in a haunted forest with real magical beings, requiring genuine courage. I have seen Cutthroat Island three times, I don't see the same plot. What am I missing? Jerry
  3. What Pyrates really wore, from my information is, that it was no different from what a merchant seaman wore during the same time period. They also took clothes as plunder, I believe crew members who boarded first, took major risk or had special favors got first pick for "a clean change of clothes" from the ship they captured. Some time the Captian wore a "uniform" of that of the rank of Captain. Also Pyrates like to make fun of the nobles, and would ware garmets of the nobles to upset them in Port. Jerry
  4. You need to keep the boots off the ground, in a hanging position. I was myself looking for a source to hang my boots. I may rig a shoetree/hanger combo or clean them and store the boots laying on the sides. Jerry
  5. I am suggesting movies that appeal to me, it is subjective of course. I would not purchase "Goonies", "Treasure Island from Outer Space" or Muppets anything. This is just me, no offence intended. Pirate movies to me happen within a certain time period, and Pirates are the central theme. just Jerry :)
  6. UPDATE! "The Princess and the Pirate" will be released 17 May. This movie stars Bob Hope, it is a comedy, but I still believe it should be in every Pyrate's locker. I put this movie right up there with "The Crimson Pirate". Which by the way is available now. Jerry

    A Pyrate's Gun

    Most excellent! Thanks mates. Jerry
  8. I was showing my black powder gun to my brother (it is a CVA kit) that I had just recently completed, all I did on the wood was sand it and stain it, no other finish. Here is my question. What type of finish did a pyrate's gun have? Did they just stain it, give a give an oil finish? Different types of finish for different time periods? What is best for modern conditions, meaning I rather be safe (not destroy the wood) then accurate. Thank you for your time. Jerry
  9. A very good chance I am going, but it depends if I will be able to. I will know more as the date gets closer. I certainly would like to go. Jerry :)
  10. Maggie, I look like Cpt.Mad Eye !? Maggie please post your pictures soon. Thanks just Jerry
  11. Jerry

    OH DANG!

I tell my friends, if you want to go to a fair, there is always one going on somewhere. Jerry
  12. I had an excellent time, I wish I knew more pirates here before I went so I could have talk to you in person. Most likely I was standing right next to you or saw you. I did meet Ms.Maggie, she took a lot pictures which I hope she will post. Ms.Maggie pleasure seeing you and look forward to talking with you again. The crew of the Wolf was excellent, three cheers for Cpt.Finbar. I will be there next year, can not wait to happens again. Jerry
  13. "Yellow Beard" is to the Pirate community, what "Monyt Python's Grail" is to the RenFair community. Hell they released "Jabberwalki", then why not "Yellow Beard". Also Roman Polanski's "Pirates". They could make money on all of this. No logic. Just jerry
  14. Only wish they (the movie industry) would release more pirate material, considering the titles they DO release makes one wonder! Jerry :)
  15. Like to let everyone knew that the Errol Flynn movies Cpt.Blood and Seahawk are availablle on DVD now. I got the box set that includes three other Flynn movies you may or may not be iterested and a bio DVD. Just jerry
