  1. Ahoy there BatSpell, I be working on a tricorne hat for Pirate Molly. If you can wait a week or so, I’ll post some pictures of the steps I be going threw to make it…
  2. Arr there Artemis, that be the same place Mister Red'and be suggesting back on page 2. They look to be mighty fine hats! What kind of price did you get fer what hat?
  3. Arr what do you mean look back at the earlier posts, where do you think the jokes came from
  4. Arr, just figured that I would make it less girlie and more pirate-grrl. I think I'm done with it now.
  5. Doh! Marie, I didn't mean to be dispensing advice or imply that your image was lacking in some way. You’re obviously an accomplished artist and your image is more than perfect the way it is.
  6. Arrr, as long as there be no money exchanging 'ands, there be no problem wit me. Thanks for asking
  7. How did you stumble upon Pixia anyway? It looks to be a pretty obscure little anime art application... it looks like it does more than the trick though. Next you should try and animate the parrot's head a bit, have it look around. And maybe add a one pixel drop shadow to the treasure text... just to separate it from the background a bit.
  8. Arr, it looks like I'll be making another Captain Weaver special.
  9. Arr, your answer be exactly what I be asking you for. With the quality of your image I thought you must have used a vector based drawing application, like Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator. Instead, you ended up pushing pixels (digital painting) and using two programs that I've never heard of before. Good job! Very cool! Those are neat little applicatiopns.
  10. Oo, sick that undead cabbage patch potc creature scares me. What will Disney think of next
  11. Wow Marie, great parrot sig! What did you use to make it?
  12. Wow, very cool. Thanks for spelling out simple stupid like for me. It makes a lot more sense actually being able to see it. Great images Cascabel! And thanks for helping out Claire!
  13. Arr, I take back what I said earlier about renaming this forum after Captain Weaver. It should be called the Naughty Pirate Chick Forum… And all us males can just come by to watch.
  14. Arr, I can't say I've ever thought of making a pissing contest emoticon before... or at least not until now... So, should I be taking this as a request Maybe put it up for a vote
  15. Arr but Captain Roberts, 'aving someone else shape yer hat isn't as fun as doing it yerself. http://www.hatshapers.com/index.html
  16. Arr thanks for yer recipe Captain Weaver, I'll 'ave to be giving it a try.
  17. Arr Captain Weaver, To sew nylon proper like, do you need a special needle and or thread
  18. I've posted a few more emoticons to my web site: http://www.astroalley.com/emoticons/ I've got a few more to finish before I send them off to Angus, he can incorporate them as he sees fit. Edited to add the "new" and "pirateWub" animated GIFs to post
  19. Ahoy there Pirate Jenny! As for navigating the board, I'm not sure that there be any specific way, plan or practice. For me self, I started out by reading just about every topic in every forum and then worked me way backwards on the subjects that be of a particular interest to me. After awhile I noticed that I be spending more time in some sections than in others. Now I still visit the other parts of the board, but I depending on me time constraints I usually hit me top or favorite sections before making me way to anywhere else. After a while I'm sure that you'll be finding your own way around. Enjoy yourself and welcome aboard!
  20. Ahoy Darkmalkin, you mentioned 3'x5' as being the measure of the flag you made, how well did that work for you? I mean did it look proportionate? Fly well?
  21. Arr Royaliste, now that be authentic
  22. Arr, now that be something I didn't think about... the fabric weight and how well it fly’s. Since I won't likely fly mine proper, I will probably go with a light-medium weight cotton canvas for the base and use some lighter unbleached cotton canvas for the design. Then I'll tatter the edge a bit with some sand paper and maybe boil the whole thing with some tea bags. :)
  23. Ahoy there Red Maria, I would think that flags were made out of what ever material was available and could be found on hand for that time period. Like maybe a black wool or linen blanket, stitched with a bit of sail cloth for the design. That would probably be fine for the less desiring pirate, at least until some stronger weight canvas and a good seamstress could be found a shore. I actually want to make a pirate flag me self, don’t have the design just yet. I'm egar to see what you do though! If you don't mind sharing, it would be great to see some in-progress pictures of what you end up doing.
  24. Ahoy there and welcome aboard Pyrate Queen!
