  1. Aye. We all be dreamers. Jack II
  2. Ahoy Mates, Has anyone done research on other parts of the country that might have a Captain J Sparrow? Jack II
  3. BHP, Please post a picture of your son wearing the skeleton pirate costume. Will your other boys be dressed as pirates too? I sure wish they would make a Capt. Barbossa costume. Jack II
  4. Ahoy Billy Bones, Did you ever have a chance to see what Jack was wearing? Jack II
  5. *************** New Flash *************** POTC 4, the X rated version of the famous pirate films will have a closing scene of Capt. Jack Sparrow getting a haircut and a shave! (although we won't say where) Jack II
  6. Light the lamp, not the rat! Light the lamp, not the rat! Oops. Wrong movie. My appologies to Miss Piggy. Jack II
  7. I agree with BHP. I would like to see a movie about a comely woman pirate like Grace O'Malley. Jack II
  8. Settle down BHP !!! He's no longer a cabin boy ! Jack II
  9. SSSSSiiiiiggggghhhh RumbaRue, you are so lucky to be in the LA area with access to so many places to buy fabric. Jack II
  10. Sometimes one must compromise one's wishes when one's sack of coins does not allow one's heart's desire. :) Jack II PS: Can you imagine how heavy that shower door would have been if it was made of real stained glass!!
  11. I shall have to break my "no attending opening night movies" for this one and go in full garb! Jack II
  12. There are so many different types of pirates that it is difficult to choose just one. Funniest - Johnny Depp as Capt. Jack Sparrow in POTC, ... Walter Mathau as Captain Red in Captain Red Most classic fictional pirate - Geoffrey Rush as Capt. Barbossa in POTC Most scary - Wallace Beery as Long John Silver in Treasure Island Most musical - Tim Curry as Long John Silver in Muppets Treasure Island Most unbelievable - Gina Davis as Morgan in Cutthroat Island (no woman is that strong) Most athletic - Burt Lancaster as Capt. Vallo in the Crimson Pirate, Errol Flynn as Dr. Peter Blood ... in Captain Blood So much for me 2 dubloons worth. Jack II
  13. I looked at Wally World as soon as I read the posting about the candy but never found anything. Rats! What did it look like? Jack II
  14. Ol'e Jack are a lucky lad, is he. All them pretty ladies a look'in at his picture every month! Jack II
  15. Darkfigures.com has some really great action figures. The Han Solo figure looks just like Harrison Ford. I am glad the toy companies did such a great job on the POTC figures. Jack II
  16. Ahoy Billy Bones, It is so cool that you met the sculptor for these figures. He is tremendously talented. What was he like? Jack II
  17. I used a liquid simulated lead and liquid coloring on a glass shower door to create an art nouveau design. It came out very well. You might be able to use these materials to create the ship on a piece of glass. Jack II
  18. Ahoy Iron Bess, Do you know if Disney is going to have a big opening celebration for POTC II at Disneyland like they did for POTC I? Do you know when filming is due to end? Jack II
  19. I think a good number of "ordinary" pirates in a crew just had no other way of making a living. People who had other motivations such as politics or religion could make use of this need to further their own agendas. Jack II
  20. I imagine it is difficult to use makeup to simulate hands made rough by sailing ships. Jack II
  21. I just purchased the Crimson Pirate on ebay. It stars Burt Lancaster. It is a great movie. I thinkt there are some parallels between this movie and POTC. Jack II
  22. Ahoy Mates, Here are photos I found of the new NECA and Master Replicas items. Click on the photos to see a larger version. The last 2 pictures were taken at Comic Con in San Diego this summer. Jack II
  23. Ahoy Mates, I have been doing more research on the busts and found pictures of other new items that will be for sale soon. To see them go to http://www.thegd.com/Site/feature.asp#NECA I will find out if pictures can be posted on piracy pub to show you what I found about the busts. Jack II
  24. Ahoy Billy Bones, Oh Boy, Oh Boy, Oh Boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How lucky you are to be working on the POTC movies! Are some antique pistols and swords being used for the principle characters as in POTC I? I know you are bound by confidentiality agreements, but I was wondering if you could tell me if the item Capt. Jack is wearing on the right side of his lower belt is a pouch made from an animal skin or just parts of an animal skin? Do you know what kind of animal skin it is? I heard it was a monkey skin. Jack II
  25. Many of the items used in POTC I were real antiques. However, antiques are expensive and fragile. For example, Jack's beads are antique trade beads used in Africa. I have collected the same type of beads which are like the ones in POTC I for my bead strings. Other than the guns and swords, some of the "decorations" were antique, although I don't have any details. I buy beads from Africa Direct in Denver, Colorado, and the owner of that store told me that Disney purchased several items from them for POTC II. Unfortunately, she would not tell me what they were. Disney put a lot of items and costumes on Ebay to sell after POTC I. I imagine they will do the same thing after POTC II is released. I imagine only the property masters of the movies will know exactly which items are antiques and which items are fake. You could contact Iron Bess to see if she would have a contact at Disney for more information. Capt. Jack II
