  1. A female wolf spider with her egg sack yeah she was about two & a half/ three inches across ...shame she hadn't eaten more mosquitoes

And those younger pyrates help to inspire and keep us older salts here to help share the knowledge and bring 'em along....and you keep us on our toes and bringing on our own self-improvement as well. Thank all of you so much.

  2. We arrived home safe and sound ...only one tick each for our crew ....Now mosquito bites that's another question Lost count when I counted 46+ just on my right ankle & foot....I might need to get a transfusion for loss of blood ;) ;) ;)

Fantastic event Dutch!!! A fine batch of serious new reenactors and was great to see those who have been friends for many years too!! Great location for an encampment and moonlight maneuvers ;)

  3. This was done 12 years ago at Fort Indian Town Gap PA ....Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry Casualty reports were recorded in the records of the Battle of Lake Erie
  4. You have our full support in all your efforts Fayma! We will bring our full encampment and as always there is the availability of those who need to share our tents, the extra space for those flying in who cannot bring tents. Which means we will have space for at least 8 travelers. This means we'll also have a full kitchen compliment to provide meals for quite a few extra folks as well.

So count us in for the event:

    Callenish

    Salty

    Hamish

PS will be good to see more of the funds in the hands of the fort to help preserve it for future generations of Pyrates!!! HUZZAH! HUZZAH!! HUZZAH!!!

  5. Growing up we made them smaller about the size of Whopper that what was carried for lunches to school or out on the fishing boats, etc. When I have the time I make some that size now and freeze them to warm up later in the toaster oven; they are the right size to just pick up and eat since they come out solid and not runny.

(this is for one batch) that is for one double crust pie you do need to double it for the two pies. Sorry if I didn't make that as clear as I should have.

  6. The majority of actual shipboard swords were not kept in scabbards because of the corrosion factor of these materials some swords had scabbards but most were officers who kept the blades out of scabbard unless going ashore when they would need to carry their sword ....most common sailors would just slip their cutlasses in their belt if leaving the ship.... there are wrecks that show cutlasses stowed along the rail
