  2. I thought i read somewhere on here of a review from 2010 saying there was camping but i could have been mistaken.
  3. I couldnt find any information as far as camping is concerned... Is it a period correct camping or pitch a tent camping... I know there are hotels nearby but if i can save the money i will.
  4. is anybody planning on going this year?, some friends of mine from school and i are planning on going though i dont know how i feel about going to the bash since i dont really have any "formal" pirate garb so i'll probably be drinking at the tavern instead.
  5. not sure if this goes here or in the armory but while i was sitting at my bench at work thinking about pirate things; a random thought came to mind. we know that the Kentucky Longrifle dates back to around 1730 and is a bastardization of sorts of the Pennsylvania rifle brought over from the Germans which is an adaptation of the Jager rifle used for hunting in Germany, so my question is... is it possible that a few of these Jager rifles could have made their way into the hands of privateers and or pirates during early 18th century and on? in my mind i can see the possibility being that it could have been raided from a vessel or if a sailor was from that part of the world making it's way on board some vessels.
  6. i will be going to the Bahamas for my Company cruise next month and will be heading up the Pirate Museum in full garb on the 22nd, SO... if anybody will be in the area i would be more than happy to oblige you with a beer at a fantastic Greek cafe i found while there last year, i will also be doing some scuba diving at cocoa cay.
  7. this does bring up a very interesting thought as i have an ferocious appetite for nautical history and even mountain man wilderness survival, though i do not necessarily believe in past lives persay it is thought pervoking non the less.

  13. what do you all think about using a non firing replica for picture posing, i have an english sea service pistol that is non firing e.g. no flint, top jaw is missing, and i have epoxied the lock so it cant be cocked, unless i load this thing up and stick a fuse in the touch hole and light it it will not fire. as far as drawing my cutlass i would only do so if someone wanted a picture of me with noone else around but even then i am reluctant to draw.
