Ohhhhhhh! Excellent shots! Can I use them in the Journal? Tres cool. Who is this? And who is this? I think you captured Patrick's soul here. (You should give it back.) Wow! The captain's expression is awesome! What a terrific photo of Paula! You have a knack for this. Jeez! Get him in proper period slops and he is a period pirate! See, this is why I don't believe in ghosts. It allows me mastery over them. ("That is why I won't do two shows a night anymore. I won't.")

Ok, all these corrections are getting to me, so I went back and added notes to explain that some things were wrong or missing or whatever. (I've gotten corrections and suggestions via the Facebook Fan page, here, pms and emails. Someone should send me corrections via snail mail so my life will be complete.) To make SURE I got them right, you can go back and re-read the whole journal. (If you're going to punish me, I'm going to punish you. )

Happiest of Natal Days to William Red Wake
Mission replied to Maeve O'Treasaigh's topic in Scuttlebutt
Happy birthday to "California" William Brand Red Wake III. -
It was really just a way to work Little Rabbit Key into the narrative and have a little fun with the idea that there is a fictional history between you guys - although that doesn't really come up until the battle on Sunday. But I will mention it then and probably mention Little Rabbit Key again. I never knew it existed until I saw it on a map on T-Shirt in Fast Buck Freddies. William Brand? William Red Wake? I must admit that this bit confuses me. Aren't they the same people? I figured William Brand was your "I'm not a pirate, I'm just a regular old man about town" name.

Happy birthday, Ca...Quartermaster. -
Now don't go taking the gags all serious on me...

At long last, following my root canal, here is the next chapter: PiP '10 Surgeon's Journal, Chapter 4
-
Recalling the sorts of things you've given me in the past...that's ok. (I can recall several hangovers quite...I was going to say 'vividly', but that's definitely not the right word.) You know, they actually used to bleed the gums for dental problems, particularly in children.
-
Now that I feel ok, I am working on it. Unfortunately because I have everyone else's photos to use, I am expanding it from 6 chapters and an epilogue to 8 and an epilogue. I can't resist good pics...
-
Update: you have never seen anyone so happy to get a root canal. The squeezed me in this morning after I explained that the drugs weren't working. Life is good once again. "At last I can stop suffering and write that symphony."

Probably because fans have been buying it and (my guess) they're planning to re-release it with a cover related to the movie when it comes out. (They frequently do that with the Bond novels, even when the novel is hardly recognizable in the movie.) So, without any recent reprints the book warehouses might be running out of it. You can still buy it on Amazon. I am not sure why anyone buys books in a bookstore anymore. Amazon used has saved me so much money over the years...

Oh my gosh! Michelle, can I use your pics in the Journal?

"Did everyone see that? Because I will NOT be doing it again."

Happy Birthday Ed. Yours is only one day off from being perfect.

Thank you one and all. Alas, this is definitely not one for the record books. I spent my birthday first in the dentist office learning that the reason my tooth was hurting all weekend was because there is an infection under the root. So I got to stay home from work all day and basically lie in bed waiting for the pills to work. (They never really did.) I am currently coasting on 1600mg of Ibuprofen, having just finished my final exam in my HTML/XHTML/XML class. BTW, I was basically in bed all weekend wishing someone would pull my tooth out, which is why there has been no progress on the Surgeon's Journal. (No, I didn't have my surgical stuff - it's in the mail.) Please note, I am really not looking for sympathy at all. I am just whining. (My mom told me on the phone, "It's just a day." She's right, although I usually don't get all this lovely feedback on a normal day. So thanks again!) Now I am going home and dose myself with Nyquil.

Here are the pics I am not using in the Journal. I have not corrected them, so you may have to rotate them and so forth if you want to use them for anything. Shay of the Keys took the first series of them. If you use them for anything (like putting them on your Facebook page), please give us credit. Thanks.

Does anyone have a good photo of jollyjacktar? I thought I took one, but I can't find it. If you have one of him doing his presentation, that would be doubly good. Jon, can I use your photos in the remainder of the journal?

I came across this list for 15 Movies from Your Childhood to Re-watch with Your Kids and thought it was interesting that three of them are (more or less) pirate movies. Maybe four. Han is something of a pirate after all...

Cool stories. I love good stories. I didn't know Bawdy Be was married!
-
This is kind of neat - it's some old photos at No Quarter Given. Edit: I take that back - it's on the Pirates in Paradise Page.
-
I also heard something else about Mallory Square where the police got involved. (Come to think of it, I could ask Shay look that one up in the police blotter in the Citizen's archives to see if it's true or not.)
-
I don't know what it was. It's shrouded in mystery like The Event on the TV show. I heard the park kind of saved PiP from ending by moving it inside the fort in 2004. (If I PM you then it's still all secret and the mumbled rumors continue.)
-
I have to admit, I think the splitting of names is extremely silly and mostly has the power to be divisive and confusing. That's IMHO. I still refer to the whole mess as PiP in the Surgeon's Journal. Speaking of divisive and confusing, has anyone ever seen the TV miniseries called The Lost Room? If so, it might make sense to you when I say that I heard something happened in 2003 that we could refer to as The Event. (Or The Event That Must Not Be Named if you're a Harry Potter fan.) Still, it's part of the history and I am curious about it if it could be brought up in a dispassionate way.
