The Simpliticy pattern you mentioned, #4923, Lady Barbosa is the exact one that I used to make the coat for my old boyfriend a couple of years ago. My biggest hurdle was the weight of the fabric that I chose! It was a great green cut velvet, but it must have weighed 8 pounds when I was finished! The next one I make will be for my fiance and I plan to use a much lighter-weight fabric this time. The pattern served its purpose and I agree, beautiful as they were, the celtic knot buttons that I chose cost nearly as much as the fabric!
