  1. You'll be most welcome! Be careful, though - we may rope you in to some of our mayhem.
  2. Bump. If you can get to this faire, I HIGHLY recommend it.
  3. ^ Non-standard cheeses (like blue or feta or brie.) < Performed at a Halloween shindig last night at a pub and am still exhausted! V While we're on the subject of food... favorite pasta?
  4. It is a great office, though. I'm very envious.
  5. I made one that is public-safe: It's gotten a lot more worn and grubby.
  6. 1. I used to clean sewers and storm drains 2. I was the lead "crab wrangler" for the movie "The Abyss" 3. I was once a gang member Actually, it's one and three. 1. Back in the day ("the day" being the early 80's) I used to clean and test sewers and storm drains and repair hydrolic equipment. You know those big trucks with the tanks on the back and the large tube running across the top of them? I used to operate one of those. 2. I was the co-crab wrangler for "The Abyss", not the lead crab wrangler. They wanted odd-looking crabs for the scene in the submarine where a crab crawls out of a corpse and freaks out one of the divers, so we used a hermit crab outside of its shell. We pumped tranquilizers into the water so that we could lure him out for that scene. 3. I grew up in a rather rough neighborhood and became a nominal member of one of the local gangs for protection. Didn't mean that I took part in any gang-related activities or was even invited to; it meant that some of the local guys looked after me.
  7. Or you could use rubber skins and stain... Great pirate togs Rumba - much better dressed than ours!
  8. Yikes! Okay, I'll give it a whirl. 1. I used to clean sewers and storm drains 2. I was the lead "crab wrangler" for the movie "The Abyss" 3. I was once a gang member
  9. ^ Other than the gig I'm playing, none that I know of. < Managed to fit two weeks of sewing into two days (I'm tired too!) v If you could re-live one moment of your life which would you choose?
  10. Was there a moment of silence? There should be...
  11. It's that time again... The Kearny Park Faire is a great faire - Tales of the Seven Seas will be joining a number of other groups in the Bedlam area, where we will be wreaking havoc. I really recommend this faire - it's in a great location and the folks who run it are terrific to work with and very pirate friendly!
  12. Yikes - a friend of mine had to go through that. I hope it's taken care of with as little discomfort as possible! ^Don't have plans on that exact day, but have a Halloween musical gig on the 28th <Making plans to get away from it all for Thanksgiving V Speaking of Halloween, will you be dressing up in anything other than as a pirate?
  13. ^ Because no one has pushed you over?... < I'm fighting off a cold right now. V Go away for Thanksgiving or stay at home?
  14. I run into this in another forum and wonder why this person posts these enormous pics, 90% of them blurry. The details are almost completely lost. It's like going to a store and they have music in the background and it's half static. To me it's like fingernails on a chalkboard, but the employees don't seem to be bothered. I suppose not everyone is as concerned with this as we are. (Mad Jack - Mr. Magoo; I'm still laughing!)
  15. Your squid name is: ravenous jill the devourer! Well I was feeling a bit peckish earlier...
  16. Well, my pet isn't as cuddly as any of yours, but she does have a lot of personality (really.) She is very interactive. There's an interesting story behind how I got her. Basically, I purchased her just before the seller was arrested, so she's a contraband turtle. She was smaller than a half-dollar when I got her and that was eight years ago. Vicious - queen of all she surveys:
  17. Yeah, and the Irish and Vikings were both in North America before Columbus anyway. And North America had already been discovered by the current inhabitants - calling Columbus the man who "discovered" America is a misnomer on so many levels...
  18. If it were only that easy... Speaking as a percussionist, nothing ruins a song worse than the beat being off - it's like fingernails on a chalkboard . I've had the misfortune to try and record a demo with someone who was a bit off with the beat on her tambourine. It wasn't pretty, I'll tell ya.
  19. ^ Spent some time in Jamaica a few years back. Rented a tiny car and put 450 miles on it driving around the island. Liked Negril the best. < Will be on the San Francisco Bay this weekend for Fleet Week - woo hoo! V If you could be a member of any pirate crew, who would you choose?
