I should check on my friend Tracey - she lives up in Delta Junction, Alaska. It gets to 70 below zero up there (although a couple of years ago, she recorded -90 degrees! Yikes!!) It's rumoured to get down to the 20's in the hills around here this week with snow at some of the the lower elevations. THAT should be interesting; we got some of that last year and we really aren't equipped for snow.

Or check your local gardening store - they should have materials like bamboo in the right size.

It's been raining on and off here, with some lovely wind as well. Jack and I were throwing knives and tomahawks in a lot near our place when it started to rain. Fortunately, that spate of rain didn't last very long and we were able to continue throwing sharp objects.

I could sure use a nap. For some reason, I've been averaging four to five hours of sleep a night for the past several days (and it's not an uninterrupted session - I wake up three or four times a night.) Apropos of nothing, I just remembered it's my ex's birthday today - 52 candles on his cake this year. I lost track of him after his last move so I don't know where to send a card. At any rate, I hope he's having a good birthday.

^ Depends on the hurt. If it's about circumstances I can't do anything about, I just hang in there and wait for it to go away. If someone has hurt me, I talk to them about it. That's the plan! And my duties haven't expanded - I've always built furniture and props, did the swordfighting and helped Claire run events (or ran them myself); it's just been made official. What's nice is that other folks are being invited to do some of the stuff that a few of us have been doing so far. Give 'em a chance to flex some creative muscle!

Yep - I was at a plateau for awhile, then lost a bit of weight. Made it through the holidays without gaining any (which, considering all the parties I ended up going to was a BIG accomplishment.) Now I'm back on the path to losing weight - I'm halfway to my goal. I'm looking to be at my goal weight for my 45th birthday, so wish me luck!

Mine is Jill (big surprise) and it means "youthful" or "pretty". My mother contends that my middle name is Smartass.
