  1. They will be available very soon. This is the first run and I need to collect a number of orders to secure the shirts, so thanks to everyone who has already purchased. The orders are adding up quickly.
  2. Charles Fitzroy, 2nd Duke of Grafton (oil on canvas, circa 1703-1705) by Sir Godfrey Kneller.
  3. Cheeky's next hat... La Belle Strasbourgeoise (1703, Oil on canvas) from a collection at Musée des Beaux-Arts in Strasbourg.
  4. Having spent years here on the Pub I am of course familiar with the cocked hat and all of its finer attributes. There can be no argument that a tricorn stays firmly planted on one's head better in a stiff wind than wide brimmed hats, not to mention that it looks damn fine while doing it. Still, I was wondering if there are examples of a hat cocked only on the right and left side, but not the back, especially in popular literature and art of the day. Being a redhead this question goes beyond simple historical curiosity, for I have certainly learned to appreciate the cover of a good neck-sheltering hat while strolling under the unforgiving sun. I'm also looking for examples in art and literature of every other conceivable hat of the era, complete with names and country of origin. I just like hats. Examples are a must for this thread.
  5. Sorry to hear about your health, Captain Sterling. Your work behind the scenes has been commendable. Get better.

  8. So...Ransom sent me a private message asking me why I don't have something warmer available, what with winter breathing down our necks. (forehead slap) I'm adding sweatshirts, pull-over hoodies and zipper hoodies in men's sizes. These will be $27.00, $35.00 and $40.00 respectively, and I'll update the top post.
  9. Are they plain or patterned? If patterned, they could be the descendants of earlier blankets of Spanish origin, and a little research might be in order. If plain, I don't see the harm. I've used wool army blankets before. I simply chose neutral colors and blankets with no pattern, imprint or numbering.
  10. Bump I'm not kidding. If you aren't logging time on your feet, start today. You have two weeks to get yourself used to a little leg time.
  11. I don't know, but I will find out tomorrow.
  12. I want pictures of your award winning camp. STAT!
  13. Take a camera and snap off lots of pictures.
  14. Yes, I know. I'm getting overly excited with Mercury stuff of late, but hey...what can I say? I like pirate t-shirts. That said, I'm taking orders for the Mercury t-shirt. Shirts will be available on men's t-shirts and tanks, as well as women's baby doll t-shirts and tank tops. All shirts are 100% cotton and will feature the Mercury flag on the back and a piratey emblem on the front which reads 'nuntius mortis'...Messenger of Death. If I can get enough orders prior to PIP, Fayma has agreed to receive a box of shirts at the festival and pass them out to those who order them in the next week. Shirts are $20.00, which includes shipping to anywhere in the US and Canada. Sweatshirts are $27.00, pull-over hoodies are $35.00 and zipper hoodies are $40.00. When ordering sweatshirts and hoodies, please use men's sizes only. Please send paypal payments to sweet_h2o@excite.com The Men's t-shirt and Women's Tank top are shown. The final sizing of art might vary a little. This is just an approximation to show the artwork.

  16. Having spent the night with the racoons in Golden Gate Park, I have a hard time acquainting your RV with 'homelessness'.
  17. The Roll Call has been updated once again. Please review the first page and see if we are missing pirates or listing ones who will not be in attendance.
  18. Two hours closer to Utah, or two hours further away?
  19. Read, yes. Commit to memory...no. (hangs head in shame)
  20. We may have to pass one around through the mail and get it signed by all.
  21. Elegant in simplicity. Very nice work. I can't wait to see it in metal.
  22. I need a surname for alphabetical arrangement.
