  1. Aye Diego! Them gloves were just the thing fer me Fagin character!!!

Sure woulda loved ta be there on Sunday at Northern with the two of you but I got to try out a new character at Stitch's shop.

T'would be grand if you could make it up to Northern next year during the pirate raid weekend!!!

  2. Aye Captain,

It be good to see ya livin' the dream!!

Though I miss the ship and her fine capt'n and crew here in the Bay, I'm mighty happy ta see her pyrating so many other waters and makin' us proud!!

  3. Yuck. I know how ya feel Billy. Back when I was doing practical FX for independant films up here (never wanted to move south) there were times we were shooting all nighters and I would be stuck with a smoke machine or something, lying in the street under a car waiting for a take.

Of course there would inevitabley be delays and so there I would sit in the damp, freezing cold waiting. But I was young and making films! Wheeee.

Then I finally grew up and got into CGI. Then I just sat at a computer all night...

Hang in there mate! I'd be buyin' ya a rum if I were there. :D

  4. I'm a bit late to the dance...but the best thing to use fer sewing on the buttons that cost you an arm or leg is good old fashioned waxed dental floss!

Works like a charm. It's also cheaper than waxed thread used fer sewing leather.

  5. Sounds like my whole house.

Ok, it's more of a raunchy, messy Tortuga than POTC ride, but that's because the stuff doubles as props for shows and of course the huge Halloween madness that happens every year. So it's not so much decor as no place else to put all of it. :D

Would like to see some pics if ya got 'em!

  6. Many thanks Bess.

I have been keeping her informed af all the wonderful people wishing her well and she is quite touched by it. I am very sure it has done her a world of good.

I still have yet to meet you in the flesh Bess...but one of these days!

  7. Ace (as I left early Friday and only heard of yer sitiation as it were unfolding and the likes) Our prayers they were with ye.. I bought a couple things at the auction and were happy to find out it were going to you and yours. In fact we all took a minute during the BBQ and gave our strengths to your needs.... another time me ole son... another time.

Diego my friend, thank you for the good thoughts and the support.

I plan on being at Fresno and making it one hell of a high toned and fancy to-do!!

I hope that many of ye fine Skalliwags can make it.

  8. I've been getting updates from Ojai and it sure sounded GREAT! We were so sorry to hae missed it. BUT! Lisa is coming home today! (Mon.)

They are still running tests and are not quite sure why everything that happended did, but they feel certain that they have her heart under control and her anemia is not that bad. Her blood count is almost normal. They are not sure why it dropped so rapidly in the first place but it didn't appear to be internal bleeding or anything scary like that.

She kept her spirits up the whole time knowing that everyone here (even though she not a pub type) was pulling for her and that folks at Ojai were down there having a good time and sharing the love at the same time.

Thanks again to all of you. A finer group of skalliwags I couldn't hope to meet. (and maybe next Ojai I'll get ta meet all of ye)

  9. Thank you John, Pearl and Captain Midnight. SO far so good, still running tests and observing. They don't really understand much about her disease, so it's a crap shoot.

I will let her know there are pirates from all over rooting for her :)

And Bess... Thank you so very much. That's absolutely fantastic! And my thanks and admiration to "Mr. Pintel" as he comes through for us yet again. It appears he's a great person as well as actor.

Well, off to the hospital to get more info. And I hope those of you going to Ojai today have a wonderful time. Drink some rum and black powder for me!!

  10. thank you Christine a Petee.

It means a lot... even coming from scurvy pirates.

Be sure to stop by the Tales camp and buy a slice of rum cake. It's amazingly good and the money will be put to good use.

Come to think of it, drag everyone ya know over to pick up some fine piratical items.

Damn I wish we were there.

    Back to the hospital soon.

It sure is comforting to know I have the old pub to come to when the house seems so empty.

  11. Well...

    Petee, Diego,etc. et all...

I will not be able to party like a pirate with you at this wonderous event.

Folks from Tales, hope you all have fun and thank you for the fund-raising that you're doing this weekend.

I will not be making it after all. Not only is my wife not feeling well but she ended up in emergency and will be in the hosptial for a few days.

She had something go wrong with her heart. Her sinus rhythm was all screwed up and her heart rate was incredibly high.

They brought that all back to normal by this morning but now she has severe anemia overnight. They are affraid she's losing blood somewhere.

It's probably something related to her disease and it's now progressing . Same is true of her diabetes apparently.

SO she can use the money for the wheelchair lift that Tales of the Seven Seas will be trying to raise this weekend more than ever.

I hope everyone has a wonderful time.

Have a rum for me will ya?

  12. Hey Christine, I hadn't heard of that one until recently. Not sure where and when and such.

Problem is finding all the time off work to travel that far and when I am not already booked for performances. I usually have a at least a show a weekend. So For the Northern Faire and Ojai I had to have them scheduled many months in advance.

So maybe in the future as I would like to see what it's about. Of course it becomes easier if I am being paid to perform stage shows or strolling.

  13. Hmm. I don't know. Ojai is nice, but damn I had fun at Northern!

Now THAT's why being a Jack clone is a good thing.

Although I am not Sparrow but Jack Spareribs the wenches don't seem to care.

Ok, it's just because my darling wife wasn't there to protect me.

    Ojai here we come!
