  1. Firstly, let me explain by saying that if you do NOT believe in past lives or reincarnation, this may not interest you, please also don't knock what I have to say, as I only know what I've been told, true or not. Secondly, there are people who do believe, and furthermore belive their connection is strong enough to be reincarnated. And lasty, I can only get an impression for who I was, from what I was told, so because most of what we know comes from famous pirates, I can only look at them for an idea.

So please share in this interesting story, and if you have your own suspicians or stories of readings, please share, I'm interested in yours too.

I had a LONG talk about past lives with a psychic at Geneva on the lake and am pretty sure she is genuine.... the end result from the questions I asked her.... i'm pretty sure I was Black Sam Bellamy in a past life. she said she saw me I wareing my hair in a pony tail, had a combination mustach/goatee, which is the first facial hair style I ever wanted by the way. I also wore a lot of jewelry, and everything I do with any of my current pirate characters, was part of my past life, who she says I have a strong connection to. I was also apparently on the Coast of Maine at one point. (Ballamy came to maine and then massachusettes)

She also saw me at the head of a table in a dark room making plans with men, and there was a shanty town, which could easily have been New Providence... I cammanded a three master with two gundecks, and flew the red 'no quarter flag' from the stern of my ship. also apparently, I wore a vest, but no shirt, and at sea a proper captain's coat. Apparently, i was also on my way to see my soulmate when I died. and I died 'Tortured' possibly ripped apart by sharks, which would fit in the way Bellamy died. (drowning) I was also a kind person at heart, but could do what was needed to keep command, and when you think about this, fits. (Edward England was mutinied because he was kind to captives, Bellamy wasn't, but was nicknamed 'The pirate Prince' for his generosity.

I want to further place him if I can, like see if she can't make out the outline of a coast on charts in a cabin for one thing.

So as I said before, If anyone one else has experiances with stuff like this, please share.

  3. i wish more people had walking sticks/ cudgels......in ssoooo many illustrations sailors ashore are shown(and described in journals) as always having their sticks handy to harass women...dogs...and each other with.....heck........to carry their bags from even...........but very few people have them

I've been meaning to get my hands on a gentleman's cane for 'Shore Leave' and I found a place that sells canes with fancy metal heads.

  4. greyhound you should be aboard sloop it's fast just as your name suggests.

I am the type of pirate to command a large galleon.... one of the designs calls for a 46 gun dutch built french galleon. with four masts. I need a ship fitting Greyhound's character.

Big, and grand, and elegant, but can turn deadly in an instant, but she is fast, she was a sucessful prototype, that greyhound stole.

  5. Once again, i am struggling with the design for my personal flagship. I tried drawing it again tonight, only to realize, that as far as the decks go, what i wanted to do with her design is very difficult to achieve the 'sweet spot' as far as where one of the aft decks end, and another begins, and the bulwarks and rails. I also remembered if would have made the ship a 3rd rate, this sweet spot woul've been achieved... any thoughts?

I also don't know if any of you serious re-enacters/festival goers command large ship of the line flagship. i have only ever met two people who do. I'd be fine with commanding one if it's not that uncommon, but if it is, I'm going to have to fine tune my design for the smaller 46 gunner...

So what are you commanding? Do you know of anyone who sails large warships?

  6. I have heard that some of the members of the Pub play Pirates of the Burning Sea... I am on Antigua Server and am looking for mates to sail with... If anyone is still playing and sailing Antigua, please post here, I'd love to have mates to sail in consort of.

As of this post, I am a lvl 37 Buccaneer captain going by the name 'Greyhound Drummond' and currently command a Raa Heavy Frigate called the 'Bloody Defiance'

  7. hey greyhound, that would be great if you have a link to some nice coats.

Ok, this is the website http://www.whitepavi...com/pirates.htm The one i was recomending was the 'Privateer' style, but there are some nice other ones if u want something simple but nice. I also know some other sites, as well as sites that sell paterns if you feel inclined to make your own, and customize it.

  8. Silly story...I used to be so upset that the Capt Morgans logo had the same issue that I used to write in and complain all the time...years later I met Don Maintz and found out he was the designer of the logo. I consider him a friend these days and I have still yet to tell him.

    lol that's ironic Matt.

  9. If your going for First mate, you're going to want something simpler than the big fancy coat and feathered hat of a captain. I've played Mr Smee on a couple occasions and still had a VERY nice outfit... though I do prefer to play the Grand Gentleman Pyrate Archtype.... if you want, I can send you a link to a place that sells nice coats that would suit both captains and tars/ mates depending on the options you ordered. Though I will tell you, the coats are more buccaneer era, (1660s) than early 1700s

  10. Not Sure when it will be, or if anyone is interested, but a few of my mates have already expressed an interest. But the Devil's Brood Pyrates (Ohio Chapter) is planning a pirate photoshoot, sometime in the spring at either Squire's Castle or Mentor Headlands Beach (both are in Ohio, one is on Lake Erie)

This event is still in the early stages of development, so if the event is gonna happen, I need to have enough people interested and planning on attending... it will probably be in the spring/summer of this year.

There is NO entrance fee, or fee to have photos taken, or fees whatsoever, policys in regard to food/drink/props are essentually, bring you own, and donations, to keep the Brood running, are appreciated, but not required.

  11. Black Bart's Articles dictated that everyone was allowed a 'shift of clothes' when a ship was taken, Black Bart himself, was reputedly, a VERRY dapper dresser, having died in a crimson damask waistcoat, large hat with red feathers, and a gold cross studded with diamonds. But in all honesty, I have read they would have had rougher clothes worn when at sea, and much finer clothes for Shore Leave, plundered from wealthy indiviuals.

Although, I suspect that a pirate could have had the inclination to dress in a simple silk vest or waistcoat, but would most likely save their finest clothes for shore leave. I myself play the 'Gentleman Pyrate' archtype, so I dress in more elaborate outfits, beacause my character was raised an aristocrat in Charles II court. That being said, I am still considering an elegant, yet VERY toned down outfit for while at sea.

  12. I'm not sure to be honest, first I was interested interested in trains all the way, then out of nowhere, I found myself surrounded by, and part of the Brethren of the Coast.

My current theory is seeing a trailor for Cutthroat Island when I was verry young, and thinking how epic it looked, and that's what did it.

I honestly think I could be re-incarnated from a pirate, and I've been trying to place the pirate based on personality, and exploits, without much success. IDK maybe if I really wanna look into this, a past life regression would do it.

  13. Ye needs a Pegleg I'm in, Commodore Sir !!! Aye that I am

Iron Hand be a Lowdly-Quiet man of Mystery. He runs his ship like a Mercenery Hessian with a Grudge against the World, but he treats his crew with respect, as long as they do what's required of them. He's honest to a fault and able ta lie his way out of any situation, I mean twist the Truth when necessary. He's a good Captain to have as a Friend but a terrible one to have as an Enemy. He loves ta drink but expects his men ta be able to act soberly. There's non meaner and non kinder. Slow and Sure he is and rarely made the fool, least not more than once...Savvy?

I can add you to a group of pirates going to raid a chines-esque treasure port.... I need to know about your ship and it's armnement/class though.... also, since this is fantasy pirate novel taking place in an parralell universe, I can actually give your character an IRON hand say, cursed or magical. your choice.

  14. Ye needs a Pegleg I'm in, Commodore Sir !!! Aye that I am

I can include you in fleet of pirates on a raid about to take place.... get me some info on your character's personality, and your ship (type, armnement, number of crew)

  15. Id be the youngest most obliged captain!

If you want to be involved mate, I'm working on a part needing more Captains right now!

However, Before I can include you, I will say, It takes place in Frenchesque waters, I will likely include you in a raiding party, and I need to know about your character, so I can accurately depict them for their 15 minutes of fame, that being said, I need to know

A: ship you command (Name type, number of guns, number of men)

    B: character apperance and personality

  16. reworking beginning... I can reference a maximum of 7 captains in the raid that opens the series. Now is the time to speak up. also, please respond to messages I sent you about ideas I had to include you... otherwise I won't know if it is acceptable or not.

  17. I would think most carried blades, pistols fired one shot, then were useless, even with a brace of them, you would still be defenseless in the melee that was boarding combat... though if they were hard to come by, they probably stole them when the got the chance... though pistols could also be used as clubs, and boarding axes were also in use.
