you know cotton, the ONLY person looking for an argument or fight here...is you! I understand your metaphor, what i don't understand is what THAT metaphor has to do with what the intent was or the content was pertaining to, in a deleted scene from the PoTC.
I wasn't aware that this was an argument and i fail to see the connection of your metaphor related to the topic. Haven't you figgered out this site yet? it is ALL about debating what is fact, what is fiction, and what your interpretations of the unknowns are.
i looked at the clip again...he shows her the sparrow and P arm (right), he shows her the left arm which shows solid scars all up and down his veins, and he shows her what appears to be two bullet scars on his upper right chest he shows her these in response to her asking essentially "what is the truth?", now i forget verbatim what he says as he shows these this but it essentially is ..you can't handle the truth.
ok, i'm not gonna parlay back and forth concerning the other means with which he may have introduced drugs subcutaneously to himself, such as quill, sharpened bone, or wood and instead choose to bow out in favor of your superior knowledge.
i'm SURE you know this already, but have you seen the deleted scenes where Jack shows elizabeth the heroin track marks on his arm whehn they're marooned on the island? man.. THAT'S grit!
Mission, i LOVE Depp's take on Sparrow..pure genius...and considering how he used to NEVER play the same role twice you could guarantee that he would give 100% to the individuality of the character. My suggestion was that the actress who would be chosen to play Anne would HAVE to have an equal amount of grit...grit in her heart, soul, AND appearance to truly make the role unique and alive.
HAHAHA...ok i retract any and all statements herein contained....hell...i didn't mean bad skin....you how the 1st POTC had a more gritty feel to it? Before they decided to wash and package jack sparrow for mass consumption? Before they realized that the project would become a franchise, when they were only making one movie? i STILL retract everything. here's where i'm told..."oh they were always going to make more than one...etc etc etc" *sigh*
i just dropped $200 on pants, socks, and tricorn...getting to be an expensive hobby....put me order in today fer a new shirt (authentic handmade), hoping to buy black powder flintlock soon-ish. NOT bragging, just mind boggled.
I'm reading a book called "Treasure Islands"...NOT to be confused of course. This one is by Cameron Platt and John Wright. I've barely scratched the surface but the content is interesting..." The fascinating world of pirates, buried treasure and fortune hunters".
