  6. Saw this in the news today: https://www.yahoo.com/news/colombia-try-raise-objects-1708-181118094.html If we were true pirates, we would mortgage a submarine or raise an army to go pirate the booty... 11 Million Gold and Silver coins and Emeralds worth BILLIONS at current prices (and that's just what was officially listed in the manifest).
  7. Yup - got a whole bottle of Apple Pie from DB Couper (bought at the Ft Gaines Auction before the mast). I think thats perfect to toast our fallen brothers and sisters.

All manner of pirate stalls selling plunder and booty were set up in Sandpit Field, alongside living history stalls which demonstrated many aspects of pirates’ lives, from cooking over open fires to writing on parchment with a quill and ink. Entertainment includes sword fighting, a display of firing cannons and teaching the children how to become a pirate or a redcoat. All pirates and militia at the festival hold a shotgun licence – which also covers cannons – and are professionally trained to use firearms, many of them by the Sealed Knot society. https://www.swanage.news/swanage-pirate-festival-welcomes-record-crowds-to-town/ https://www.swanage.events/swanage-pirate-festival/ Facebook

AHOY all you Buccaneers!! May 9-11 are the 2025 dates for Buccaneer Days: a non-profit/community groups fundraising event! In 1939, Esquimalt began holding a May Queen celebration. This evolved into Esquimalt Days and eventually, in 1966, became Buccaneer Days. The town turned out in naval and pirate attire, vying for prizes for the best costume. Esquimalt residents were also awakened at a mighty early hour by a loudspeaker mounted atop a van calling “Wakey, Wakey!” Buccaneer Days festivities have always been well attended, with over 20 community organizations taking part, which allows our community to work and play together, have a great time, and instill a feeling of accomplishment and pride in our community. facebook https://www.esquimaltbuccaneerdays.ca/

  18. Combination of larger pieces and paint. Can't remember what paint I used and I forgot this one used very thin leather on a wool flag.
  19. I did this one and a similar size Mercury flag (with WIlliam's blessing) a couple years ago. 3x4 ft Wool with white linen and red wool hand stitched on the field. I still need to add grommets so it can be flown.
