the last count for me was 880 some odd pics..... alot of the pics are of the kids, but i also took alot of pics for reference for us.... you know..... garb, ditty bags ( fantastic job lily and edward !! ), wall tents, encampment gear... but i also got an awful lot fairly decent pics of all the goings on about the fest.. so far, there are quite a bit that are worthy of sharing... but, i have to download them, edit, organize, and upload them, so it might take awhile...

When the Thatchers arrive, I have sent with them two wedge tents and a fly/awning. If some of you experienced hands find them struggling, please lend a hand (as if that needed to be said). One is a bell-backed wedge, it takes the black poles and pins go through the grommets at the ridge, no finials. The other is a double-door wedge which takes the treated poles and no pins through the top. I normally set up the Bell to windward, the fly in front of that close-up to the pole of the wedge, then the other wedge set close to the pole of the fly, knda like one long train of canvas. If space permits, this works well for large contingents, but this may not work for the site. Just a suggestion for helping them set-up. The fly is the one with all the long poles with long pins. Bo was able to figger it out without much assistance... had lots o' space

lost my tankard.... new one ,too found it, brought it home, and then wondered why "animal" was etched on it ???? animal says not his... guess i'll keep it for now

after a 2 day respite at gulf shores, alabama, we have finally arrived home at 1:00 sat. morning. good thing we waited..... major snow storm on the route home !! and, we missed it all... will post pics later.... over 800 pics to download, edit, sort, etc.

as of right now, it looks as if we will not be coming down. something has come up that is getting in the way.

Silas, you should have said something, I just bought two new pair at Ft. Osage and won't be using them anytime soon, coulda made you a deal. Oh well. Wilde Weavery is here in MO and travels to a lot of events. His wife does some of the best period weaving in the re-enacting world. They don't make their stockings but do carry them as well. I'll try and get you a link to their site too. Should have loaned ye my short-jacket too. but wasn't thinking. Too much college! Have fun and enjoy your experience. Bo i do like that short jacket.... mebbe by next year i'll have one made...still have to work out the trousers/breeches issues we are having... will learn more at pip by picking other's brains :)

Oh! I didn't know that. I bought some from him at Hampton. Why not pm him or post in his thread, Silas? Of the vendors from last year, he would have been the most likely to have PC socks. jest throwin out a general question for some conformation... NOBODY at the pirate fest in town had any..... will pick some up there...

i imagine that someone will be selling grey or red socks to complete me garb ??? please reassure me of that.. ain't got pretty legs ta show show off...

thanks to capt. bo, we now have 2 more tents to use at the encampment. along with the small tent i made, we will also have 2 more tents and a fly to have at our disposal... capt. bo has graciously lent us these to use for the encampment... met him mid-state to get the tents... shoulda worn my garb... he did... just think... 2 pirates meeting at a gas station, transferring boxes from one vehicle to another.... "no, ociffer... nuttin' suspicious goin' on here !!" huzzah to capt. bo !!

without spam there is an awful lot i would never know... such as; needing a russian bride... new septic tank cleaner... didn't know i had one :).... some guy i don't even know found the right job for me..... needing a larger p#%#s.... apparently mine is not adequate enough :)... lots of college coeds just dying to meet me..... online and for a fee :)... AND my pet nail trimmer is not quite up to snuff.... freedom of speech !! freedom to use the delete button !! or to turn the tv off, been known to turn off the radio or switch stations if i don't wanna hear crap... telemarketers.... i just say no thanx and hang up... same thing as bill boards.. trying to sell you stuff... aren't tv commercials a form of spam ??? someone trying to sell you stuff... stuff for your house.. until you have so much stuff, you need a bigger house... a bigger house to put all your stuff... ( g.c.) child porn--- NO spam--- trying to sell stuff like everything else

me, lady constance and 6 of our 9 powder monkeys will be attending.. still not sure about the 16 y.o. ....

lady constance is kinduv a redhead, more like strawberry blond kinda thing going on.... me.... brown hair, but ALOT of red if i let my facial hair grow out.... sorta weird... kinda like i can't make up my mind which way to go :)

10 minutes.... painless, in and out.... at 430 this afternoon, i was number 1548 for the day...

silas thatcher, lady constance and our crew of miscreants, will be dining there, too.. lady constance has emailed you about helping...... she CAN cook !! don't have anything pc to bring for you, but can supply food.... let us know what we can do... ps.... our powder monkeys can also wash dishes :)
