The Lock House sets on the bank of the Susquehanna River in Havre De Grace Maryland. Come join other period reeanctors from around the area as we loot and pillage the Lock House. We will be setting up camp on Friday evening the 26th. Come join us as in the encampment as we plan our attack around the camp fire. This is a fun event that has been going on for over 10 years and has drawn in reenactors from as far a way as Canada. Salem Pioneer Vilage-1630 in Salem Massachusetts will be hosting their annual Pirate Day on October 22, 2011 from 10am to 4pm. Admission is $10. This will be my own first time attending this event and I will be demonstrating my leather craft. This historical village is a recreation of Salem's founding in 1630 (kinda like a mini version of Plimoth Plantation) and is the oldest and first living history community in America (built in the 1930's). Salem is of course famous as the Witch City and the city's annual Halloween festivities will be in full swing. Salem also has an enormous pirate and privateer history with many nice little museums (gotta go see the New England Pirat…

I have been asked for some time to post my thoughts about pirate festivals I go to, so others can get a feel for them. Most times, I am just too lazy to do the job, but after this weekend's Southern Pirate Festival, I want to share some fun moments, so, here we go. Columbus, Ga. Ok so, yes, we're talking Columbus, GA here. Not a bustling metropolis by any means, and the drive, well let's say I saw a LOT of cotton fields. The museum is nestled over by the Chattahoochee River in the FAR west side of Georgia. So far west that I literally took one wrong turn on the way to the grocery store and ended up in Alabama! While the drive was long to get there (7 1/2 hours) the weat…

http://www.visitcatalinaisland.com/twoHarbors/Calendar.php Text From Above: Buccaneers Day (Catalina Island, California) October 2nd Argh Mateys! Come celebrate our 21st Annual Buccaneer’s Day. Don your best pirate attire and set sail for Two Harbors for a day of treasure hunts, costume contests, great food, live music and a lot of fun. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX The location is on a part of the island that comes as close as possible to demanding you approach from the water. I do not know if the "Catalina Express" or other shuttle service handles this location. Everybody I know that has gone was either on their own boat or somebody else's. I have heard that certain of the a…

While not specifically a pirate event, it is an event that does focus on later 17th century re-enacting, and a great way to expand ones re-enacting horizons (if one is interested in that). Anyways, this will be the fourth year of this event. It normally takes place in Dayton Ohio at the Sunwatch Indian Village/Archaeological Park, but for this year only has been moved to a private location in central Ohio. The event will be moving back to it's original location for 2011 (or be canceled), but we wanted to keep the continuity going and not skip a year so we moved the event to a private location for this year only. For details, see this web page. The event centers around a…

This year, The Texas Renaissance Festival will have it's pirate-themed weekend on October 24-25, 2009. This is one of the largest Renaissance faires in the world and on this particular weekend there will be thousands of pirates from all over the world meeting and drinking and carousing and partying from first watch to the last dog watch! With the camping area being so wild and wooly the party goes on around the clock! Dozens of pirate acts will be featured, the Court even takes on a piratical attitude, and there will be dozens of crews represented. One thing you won't want to miss is the pirate's auction - imagine getting a steel dagger, complete with sheath, for less…

Shay Sansanee and Myself are based here in Key Largo and are trying to pull together information about the festival. The 2 websites found are: http://www.keylargopiratefestival.com/ -not being advertised on the radio http://www.keylargopiratesfest.com/ As many of us who live here can't afford the parties that are "sponsored" and remember how things fell apart last year due to the prices (most locals dont want to pay $5 for a beer when they know they can drink in their favorite place up the street for $1 or $2 instead). We were thinking of a pirate bash here at our house (on the water)sort of a pre PiP get together after the parade on Friday night. Anybody who has…

Ahoy me lads and lasses, It's been too long since my weary eyes have looked upon your countenance. We've entered into the months of hard sailing. Wind, rain and mighty waves are ahead, we must brace up and pull together. October 17 is the event at Georgetown. We had a grand time last year and made many friends. I'd have to say that last year we were treated better at Georgetown than any other event. It would be great if we could all gather there, we might not get the chance during the winter. The Crew of the Charles Towne Few will bee there with the Charlston mismosquito flet. Drop by and host a tankard with us if yea bees in Georgetoen Saturday Octber 17,2009 ht…

Ahoy, me friends! The Medieval weekend of Middlefaire was indeed an excellent time! Many old friends were reacquainted with and many new friends were made. The weekend was profitable for the Adventure and it is with great hope that we look forward to the coming weekend, the final weekend of Middlefaire 2009 – THE PIRATE INVASION! “Pirate’s Alley” and “Blackbead’s” took a heavy dose of wind and rain damage during the week between the first two weekends of Middlefaire. We had taken all of our stock away with us but much the “office box” took a direct hit. It’s the plastic tub that we put all of our office supplies in, things like scissors, pens, things to write on, a …
