Greetings and salutations! New to these parts and thought I'd say Ahoy! I found the Pub yesterday during a search for how to make a baldrick, and after digging around a bit, decided that this would be a nice port on the seas of the interwebs. I am the Ship's Cook for the dread ship the Vixen out of Arizona. I know what you're thinking.. "Arizona??? How can there be sea-going pirates in Arizona??" Well, we still have a lot of boats and.. use your imagination! XD The Vixen is an entertainment group that does live shows both comical and stunty in nature and while we're still forming and feeling it out, we all have many decades of entertainment experience between us.…

I was at Disneyland last night, riding the Pirates ride....and getting horribly soaked. Oh, yes, the 6th row is the worst, my butt stayed wet and cold all night! I also had to buy flip flops, my mary janes went all to pot! Anyway, with everything going on with the new movie coming out I thought I'd look back in here. It has been a long time hasn't it? Wow! How many of you still remember me? *sheepish grin*

I know it's been long and long since I've visited this shore, but a few folks have found me on some o' them other social networking sites, reminded me of all the fine folks hereabouts, so I thought I'd swing back through and re-affirm some old friendships and hopefully make a few new ones. So, apart from the pirating, I'm still cowboying a bit (at least, for a bit longer, unless we get some rain) and working some gas wells. But, that's the "real" jobs. I'm just finished up with what pyrate gigs I've had for the summer, looks quiet on that front 'til the Fall, at least. At any rate, I'm looking forward to trying to get back into the swing of things here around the old …

Ahoy, me 'earties! 26 years ago today, I embraced the Pirate world fer the first time. In that dark weekend afore I turned 20, I was the only landlubber what dared love Roman Polanski's PIRATES --- or, at least, love it enuf to appreciate it --- and I thought I were alone. But that day, Saturday, July 19th, 1986, nobody wanted a Pirate movie around, blarst it all! So, channelin' ol' Blackbeard's dear spirit, an' adoptin' the ol' rogue as me Corporate Mascot and Principal Spokespirate, I founded Electric Pirates Entertainment and its parent company, EPE Holdings. Now, here I be, 26 years later, and look what's happen'd ta me: EPE will, if certain landlubbers git off the…

As a gentleman of the golden coast of California, the only information I knew about Oklahoma was the song, "Okie from Muskogee." Through the years, I had heard the word "Okie" but I was not really familiar with the meaning. It did sound a bit derogatory to the native Oklahoman. Little did I know, I would eventually reside in Oklahoma. Ironically, I would only live about 30 minutes away from Muskogee. When I first started looking into buying a house, I would always ask the Realtors, "Does it have a basement?" The realtor would reply, "No? Do you need or want a basement?" I would sarcastically reply, "Ah yes, Tornado's!" The realtor would always laugh, "Those are fe…

City has opened the newest park complete with a 140 acre lake. Lake is 1 1/2 miles long, 1/2 mile wide at its widest point. Really nice breeze going almost all the time so I am looking for a smaller sailboat to start running the kids around. There are currently 50 slots for RV's, a boat ramp, trails are almost complete, and the marina is almost complete. There are a few kayaks and canoe for rent, and you can put your own boat in. No gas or diesel motors are allowed to be used on the Lake. The primitive camping area is slated to be put in too.... NOW, all I need to do is get a Pirate Festival going!!

First off I am sorry if this is in the wrong section of the forum... I don't really know where to put it. I am getting to a point where I can't just grow my hair on a whim anymore due to well let's say "work." My research for my MS is easier on me if I keep my hair reasonably short. I like having hair anywhere between shaggy and to the shoulders. I have recently been looking for an alternative to have the illusion of longer hair without having to grow it out. I have found queues and wigs. A site I found while perusing the pub here has both and can base it on my hair. Basically I was wondering which option would be better. I also usually use a bandanna/head-wrap th…

Calling out to the Brotherhood: This Saturday, May 28th, the Civil War Museum at Port Columbus, GA is holding a support rally. This venue is not only a great educational source, but also the site for the annual Southern Pirate Festival which is dear to many of us. The city of Columbus is proposing a 70% budget cut which will, in effect, shut the museum down. Those of us in The Cursed Few, that are able to, will be going out in garb to show our support. Please consider joining us in the effort to save this Georgia jewel.. HOIST THE COLORS!!!

Congratulations to all that won. More specifically congrats to Talderoy with the cutlass and Silkie with the mermaid knife. I am anxious to see what the pirate pouch and bracelet look like that I won.

somewhere, somehow, such a thing must exist. If I was to search for a modern watercraft, nothing big, mind you, say about 30' or so, that had a "pirate" look and feel to it... where I would look? I've tried a few searches on google and yahoo and come up with nothing so far. I know Smoolie671 mentioned in the "Morning Star" thread that he does some custom work of that nature but are there any other resources for us modern buccaneers?

Today, mateys, this ol' Hawk acknowledges a most 'orrible loss. Last Wednesday, alas, we lost a true Pirate in every sense o' th' word --- well, at least he was that as far I be concern'd: Rabbi Abraham Novitsky, better known to his friends an' shipmates as the colorful, wacky, an' ferciously silly Rabbi Abraham Abraham, died in his beloved Coney Island, Brooklyn, He were 77, and lived all 'is life in Coney, and the surroundin' Brighton Beach vicinity. He was that rarity among New Yorkers: a true New York character, an' one o' Brooklyn as well. In 1999, he ruled the annual Coney Island Mermaid Parade as its King Neptune, and, true ter his legend, lived up to making his …
