I'm new to the site , but old to the love! Everyone here seems like a fine sailor , I only hope to make a decent hand. There are so many questions I have , and so very many have already been answered. Thank you for putting together a wonderful and informative site!

its been a few years since I first set foot in this harbor, but I made some grand and scurvy friends here, whilst walking the planks. You helped introduce me to pyracy, pirate crews, and I am sure there are some who rue the day!! but that is another story.. heres to another couple decades at the helm.. cheers!

Mates, I wanna take a brief moment or so to tell ye about the Third Annual PirateCon NYC. For ye swabbies what not be knowin', PirateCon takes its basic premise from SantaCon, 'ceptin' that, 'stead o' ye dressin' as Kris Kringle, ye dress up as pirates! (Well, duh!) Ye need but secure yerself a sensible Pirate outfit (and the shirt, pants and boots) to get in on all th' doin's; fortunately, me adventure began with me almost makin' the wrong guess (as usual), and thinkin' --- illogically, o' course! --- that ye olde South Street Seaport would be the place where I'd find me fellow Brethren an' Sisters o' th' Coast. Wrong again, Panavision-fer-brains (that be what I often c…

This is my way to thank you all for your friendship - I think it is about one year, if not more, since I am here and I have learnt a lot of things from you. I have contributed too little, but I have read a lot, you have been here to answer my questions... and yes, of course I'm staying, this is NOT a good bye, only... another honest question, which I hope I am allowed to ask. And if it is longer, like everything I am writing... please, bear with me. You might again know something I don't, your answers have always been helpful. Besides learning lots of things about the period and setting my Age of Sail RPGs are in, because I like having my stories as period correctly as p…

Just found this harbor, and think I'll drop anchor. I be a newbie pirate, still workin' on me first outfit. I've learned a lot about my mistakes here already, thanks. My wife and I live in the Lake Charles area, they have a "Contraband Days" fest (a celebration for Jean Lafite) every year and from what I've seen so far not a lot of pirates. I've just made contact with the local crew (or krewe) called the Buccaneers but they have a narrow membership window an' ye have to be sponsored by a member. I've only briefly met one member. Maybe in a year or two.... We started going to the Texas Ren Faire and fell in love with it, when asked what to dress up as, I only ha…

Greetings and salutations! New to these parts and thought I'd say Ahoy! I found the Pub yesterday during a search for how to make a baldrick, and after digging around a bit, decided that this would be a nice port on the seas of the interwebs. I am the Ship's Cook for the dread ship the Vixen out of Arizona. I know what you're thinking.. "Arizona??? How can there be sea-going pirates in Arizona??" Well, we still have a lot of boats and.. use your imagination! XD The Vixen is an entertainment group that does live shows both comical and stunty in nature and while we're still forming and feeling it out, we all have many decades of entertainment experience between us.…

I was at Disneyland last night, riding the Pirates ride....and getting horribly soaked. Oh, yes, the 6th row is the worst, my butt stayed wet and cold all night! I also had to buy flip flops, my mary janes went all to pot! Anyway, with everything going on with the new movie coming out I thought I'd look back in here. It has been a long time hasn't it? Wow! How many of you still remember me? *sheepish grin*

I know it's been long and long since I've visited this shore, but a few folks have found me on some o' them other social networking sites, reminded me of all the fine folks hereabouts, so I thought I'd swing back through and re-affirm some old friendships and hopefully make a few new ones. So, apart from the pirating, I'm still cowboying a bit (at least, for a bit longer, unless we get some rain) and working some gas wells. But, that's the "real" jobs. I'm just finished up with what pyrate gigs I've had for the summer, looks quiet on that front 'til the Fall, at least. At any rate, I'm looking forward to trying to get back into the swing of things here around the old …

Ahoy, me 'earties! 26 years ago today, I embraced the Pirate world fer the first time. In that dark weekend afore I turned 20, I was the only landlubber what dared love Roman Polanski's PIRATES --- or, at least, love it enuf to appreciate it --- and I thought I were alone. But that day, Saturday, July 19th, 1986, nobody wanted a Pirate movie around, blarst it all! So, channelin' ol' Blackbeard's dear spirit, an' adoptin' the ol' rogue as me Corporate Mascot and Principal Spokespirate, I founded Electric Pirates Entertainment and its parent company, EPE Holdings. Now, here I be, 26 years later, and look what's happen'd ta me: EPE will, if certain landlubbers git off the…

As a gentleman of the golden coast of California, the only information I knew about Oklahoma was the song, "Okie from Muskogee." Through the years, I had heard the word "Okie" but I was not really familiar with the meaning. It did sound a bit derogatory to the native Oklahoman. Little did I know, I would eventually reside in Oklahoma. Ironically, I would only live about 30 minutes away from Muskogee. When I first started looking into buying a house, I would always ask the Realtors, "Does it have a basement?" The realtor would reply, "No? Do you need or want a basement?" I would sarcastically reply, "Ah yes, Tornado's!" The realtor would always laugh, "Those are fe…
