Just wanted to say, I love you all! The Pub is like a second home to me. Chatting with all these everyone. Discussing things from the period. Missing those I've met and hoping to meet the others. What great fun. Lets keep it up! AHEM! (raising a glass full of something alcoholic) To those that are here always! And those that the Pub running! Here, here! (Drains me glass with one foul swoop) OK maybe I've had a bit much this evening, but my sentiment still stands. (Hic!)

I would like to humbly apoligize to everyone i put off in my attempts to recruit people to The Devil's Brood Pyrates. I had a reality check with a gentleman with an axe last year at an event, and am making motions to being more humble, thankfully, those i know personally in Ohio have been forgiving and taken note of my efforts to change. But i still feel i owe some of you on Pyracy Pub the same curtousy. I came accross a facebook post that does not exactly look at me in too favorably a light so this additional eye opener tells me there is still some bad blood, and I would very much like to earn your forgiveness. I'd like to be welcomed into the Pirate Community, not t…

Does anyone have a photo from a tall ship of the cockpit they'd be willing to share? Or does anyone know of a tall ship where I could get an image of the cockpit?

Have you ever considered, after a particularly brutal event, just hanging up the tricorn, cutlass and the black flag? Stopped being a pirate for a hobby? It doesn't matter if you are a historical reenactment performer, pirate entertainer, or just really like pirates and enjoy dressing up and playing the part! Do you have a break point or level that could drive you away? What could make you so disappointed, saddened or angry enough to give up being a pirate? Have you come close to leaving the hobby? Ever taken time away? Or is it that important that you could never say farewell?

Firstly, let me explain by saying that if you do NOT believe in past lives or reincarnation, this may not interest you, please also don't knock what I have to say, as I only know what I've been told, true or not. Secondly, there are people who do believe, and furthermore belive their connection is strong enough to be reincarnated. And lasty, I can only get an impression for who I was, from what I was told, so because most of what we know comes from famous pirates, I can only look at them for an idea. So please share in this interesting story, and if you have your own suspicians or stories of readings, please share, I'm interested in yours too. I had a LONG talk about…

It's time for the Secret Gift Exchange. Those of you who've been around know we've done this for the last several years with a reasonable amount of success and a few of us/you were looking forward to it again this year. At least according to the informal poll I posted last week… So here's how it’s going to work: Who is eligible: Any current member of the Pub is eligible. If you’ve only been around a few months, I’ll pair you with someone else in equal standing. The understanding being that this would put those newer members on equal footing, as both parties would be taking a risk with unknowns. Regardless of membership status, by signing up you solemnly agree tha…

Sometimes local Governments can become to far reaching in to our lives and jettison the most precious things we hold dear to our hearts! This is personal to me because Dennis Holland also restored the Spirit of Dana Point ( Formerly known as the pilgrim) which happens to be the first ship eye ever did piratical reenactments on. That day on the Spirit of Dana Point changed my life forever and sealed the deal as to why eye continue to do reenactments. I fell in love with Tall ships that day. A Ship and a Mans Life hangs in the balance as well as the legacy he will leave behind for children to experience sailing on a tall ship. Nautical Heritage matters and should be consid…

Eye was at Toshiba Tall Ships Festival as the Gunner with the Jolly Boat pirates in port, at Dana Point CA. We were performing against the a British Group who are the (Naval Historical Foundation) to free our captain Jean Laffette. We were using Black Powder extensively through out this skit both on the Jolly Boat and on board the Pilgrim ( Which stayed in port during the incident ) and were supervised very closely by the coast guard whom kept other boaters in the area away from us during our performances. So we had a bunch of fun on Saturday. However, by Early Sunday Morning, word reached us, that the Ocean institutes Black Powder Permit had been pulled which kind…
