  9. think you'd still fit in the ones i got from you ?? can always lend them to ya... every once in a while someone else that comes with us fits in them as well....
  10. some new, some old... welcome back !!
  11. hey, good seeing you , too, bo !! should have gotten a few pics of your new wheel lock :) yeah, i know what you are talking about being over 50.... miss not being able to string up my hammock.... even in the cold, it's a good night's sleep for my stupid back...
  12. i pretty much take patrick's route with the fitting of them.... i usually make a pattern out of a pair of pants, add a few inches to each side to give it some extra.... and i make the waist band fit my waist and then use the waist band as a finished length to gather the legs into... i think i made sense ?? this way it turns out a lot better than finding out afterwards that it is too small or too large...
  13. bo, we will be there with a small force...look us up !!
  14. getting burned out on a few things

  15. i'm with william on his last post... a nice place to set up tents, water, bathrooms, firewood a bonus, involve us in some kind of activity ( we are there for entertaining, teaching, etc., to show off our love of the hobby - essentially ) , a thank you at the end of the event, some kind of recognition that i just spent a day or two of my own money and time getting there, hauling out a bunch o'crap, talking to the public, putting on some kind of demo, etc., etc. downers ---- no weapons at all, no water, bathrooms, campfires, having to be quiet after a certain hour ( yes, i take into consideration that people do need to sleep... i'm not talking about staying up till dawn partying like an animal ) we are all adults and mostly conduct ourselves in that manner, so unwanton behaviour is usually not an issue with reenactors, so don't jump the gun and assume that we need to be watched with gaurded minds.... we always invite others to join in the after hour festivities which usually involve sitting around the campfire telling tall tales and lies, sharing our latest projects, bringing out the snacks, beverages, catching up with friends, music and anyone that can sing better than i are always very welcome.... make it convenient and worth while for us to travel and set up, let us do our "show" ,and after hours, let us have fun....
  16. in order to bake fresh bread, an oven per say is not needed...an upside down copper pot or a cast pot is all that is needed... ( if you have a lid, skip the upside down part ) less clutter on board if you can use what you already have for other purposes... connie made bread in key west with a dutch oven
  17. well made it to half a century without turning into an axe murderer or anything....must be doing something right...
  18. welcome !! from where are you ?? we come from all over the world... st. louis, mo. here
